Cosmetics or a Stable Game?
I made a thread recently about immediate versus long term self satisfaction.
I was surprised how many people were willing to destroy their future for temporary, immediate gratification.
I now ask the same thing about DBD.
Would you rather have more cosmetics or a Stable Game?

Stable game of course but companies want profit which is understandable. I would be happy with something in between.

There are multiples of Devs, who work on different things, both can be managed, now let me ask you on a different item?
Why did you call me unclever on my profile dude, I cried for like 6 weeks.

The cosmetic team is not a part of the bug fixing team. I understand your frustration but the moment you realize this, the easier everything is.
Should BHVR look to hiring more bug fixers? Yeah, but muh cosmetics!
8 -
THEN HIRE MOREE BUG FIXING TEAM PEOPLE!!! The game rightnow is unplayable with cute clothes....

Those two things are apples and oranges. People on the dev team have different skill sets, they aren't all interchangeable. The artists that are making cosmetics cannot fix bugs, and the programmers can't make cosmetics. Likewise, making a cosmetic does not require programmers, so halting the creation of cosmetics wouldn't have an effect on bug fixes.

Meanwhile the team works on bugs.. the cosmetic team be like...

Stable game of course, but right now it looks like it's only about nerfing killers to the ground. I hope this mid-chapter will be delayed.

Silly Trapper, no one uses DVD's anymore.

More cosmetics tbh.
More content>Stability
The most stable game in the world that never changes would be 😪😪😪😪😪😪

Dude come on, have you never watched their livestreams ever, if you were a Dev, you do understand that a community idea gets passed around to that team and even if they ask it, it can be denied cause it gets in the way of their plan or it just isn't good.
1 -
@Ihatelife Give up on the dream. PTB Legion is Legion now. They pretty much confirmed this on the dev stream.
@Peanits Can't change their mind.

Cosmetics are fun but if the game is constantly bugged, and lobbies are screwed up who cares if you look "cute" in the lobby. Hell you might not even load in to the match.

Stabel game! Dont make chapters and skins just fix your game!

The two are completely different teams, one stopping wont make the other work any faster.
I do think they need to hire some more competent staff to deal with balance issues and bug fixes because they are notoriously slow at dealing with issues as well as not exactly having the best idea about the game's balance which is very worrying.

So what's the point of giving the feedback? lmao
0 -
Your thread was saying that we shouldn’t buy anything from them until everything is fixed. A balance of both is good. They need profit and they’re trying to fix things.
1 -
My ultimate wish would be to have a bug free game. There was a thread a few weeks back that had a long list of needs, wants, bugs etc that really needs to be addressed and tackled by BHVR.
But to keep the game going and hiring/keeping the right people to fix those bugs requires revenue... which means DLC's, cosmetics etc. So.. we kind of need both.

@Ihatelife The point is to give feedback so the devs can address every point and one by explain why/how we are wrong in their opinion.
Did you not watch the dev stream? If not go watch it and let me know what you think because i'm not exaggerating they addressed everything by saying we are wrong lol.
One example was people are upset about decreased vault speed.
Devs: What you mean is you want a smoother animation to fit the slower speed.
What? No!

As it would appear we all already own the game, unless we are paying for the new cosmetics and DLC's with cash-money, exactly how will the studio fund the fixing of the game...?
At least that's my thought when I buy my new stuff!

Its about how BHVR spents its recources it could hire more programmers for example and lay off some artists. Then fix the game and once everything is fine lay of some programmers again and hire artists.
Or invest more money to hire more and good programmers while the artists still pump out skins. The extra investment in fixing the game will pay off in the long run since people will stay around, come back or start playing the game and stick around more likely.
However you do it fixing the game is important and not doing it will hurt the game more in the long run.

fix the game

@MystiKasT Try giving them time. Every day they go to work they're working on new content, updates and fixes.
Every day.

anyone commenting that artists and bug fixers have different skills etc: fire all the skin makers and hire some people to fix this mess. Or keep the skin makers and hire programmers anyway if you have money
0 -
@Crythor LuLS...
Lay off some artists... why?? Cause peeps want their ######### bamboozle fixed...
How would you like to be pulled into an office and told.. Oh... We need to lay you off now... why?... Cause we need a couple more programmers right now.. maybe in 3 months we can hire you back.
Have you ever fired or laid anyone off before?...
Sure jobs come and go and that is the nature of the business... but... come on..
I love that mentality that you'd take the food off of someone plate for them and possibly their family because you want some ######### perks fixed..
LOL
Remember.. this is a game.
2 -
@cetruzzo What if they already have enough programmers for maximum efficiency?
0 -
then stay as they are, but considering the time it takes to fix bugs I doubt it
0 -
@TheBean Exactly calling for layoffs is ######### stupid...
Bhvr isn't dumb they have their own plan and know what they should be doing.
0 -
I don't care for stability or cosmetics.
I want balance.
0 -
You'd be surprised how stupid most managers of video games are. Think Jay Wilson, the recent Wyatt Chung disaster, EA, etc.
0 -
@CronaWins They refuse to tweak movespeed/terror radius to achieve balance, so we need stability first. Once the game works most of the time, then we go to balance.
3 -
@MystiKasT They need to focus on dlcs and skins.
If they don't they're not making money so they're not able to pay staff to fix anything.
0 -
bro you act like the game is free to play. I just spent $20 to buy the game 2 months ago and then another $5 for leatherface and another $5 for a spirit outfit. this isn't f2p @Bbbrian2013
0 -
@MystiKasT You act like people are actually buying the base game at rate that matters.
This game isn't gaining new players thats why dlcs and cosmetics are important. Get more money from existing players since new aren't rushing in by the millions.
With just entry costs bhvr/dbd would die.

All we're asking for is a stable game, bug free and fair hitboxes.
0 -
A more stable games with different versions of a ptb (or frequent PTB update after a feedback survey) so we can try different possible outcomes and come up with better balance decisions, i find the current PTB + radio silence to be innefective.
Cosmetics can wait, pretty sure they could put them on standby to get more people working into the actual game.
0 -
@CallMeSpidey And we will likely have that by the end of Fall.
0 -
Stable game, there was nothing wrong with the default clothes or P3 clothes.
0 -
Stable.
I don't see the point in hot cosmetics when you move at 5 FPS.

@GodDamn_Angela Talking about allocation of resources.
More resources should be allocated in stability + balance than cosmetics.
0 -
@MystiKasT You don't know what's being allocated where though.
None of us do only bhvr does.
0 -
@Bbbrian2013 it is getting new players. I am 2 months old, and I started wit 2 other friends. Thats 3 new players in the past 2 months just that I know of.
0 -
Why do stupid people always assume that the same people working on cosmetics are also the same people who do game design or the actual coding
1 -
Different teams work on cosmetics and game infrastructure though
