Please get rid of the down vote.
Why is it there? people will less likely post or make comments due to the down vote.....this site doesn't promote hate but getting down voted is another feature to diss people and spread negativity.....why do people need a negative thought, button due to their opinions...thougts, suggestions?

I like it being there and it was gone forever.
It's a way for people to disagree with you without commenting, which could be good in the fact they aren't posting, but bad as in some people will just blinding down vote stuff because they are stupid.
And there's a lot of stupid in this community sadly.

Tbh, I like the new down vote button.
People should learn that there are people who disagree with what they think and write.
An up vote button with no down vote doesn't mean anything.

Yeah I see your point, but the idea is that if someone doesn't agree with someone they can just click a downvote and might not respond with crazy illogical stuff.
Like half these posts in this forum.
Objectivity and common sense are mostly gone. From society as a whole.

The thing is, you make a post, a detailed one, about an opinio, a great idea....really to someone down vote it/ what is the point then?there is too much hate here....people who don't comment and just hit the oh down vote button obvs haven't anything worth commenting upon....

There's a thread I made where every reply had 1 down vote which means someone was just f***ing around and downvoted everyone on purpose. Another reason I don't really like it.

Because repeating someone else who I agree with really adds to a conversation.
Get a thicker skin. If you can't see a few downvotes by your post and it bothers you that much perhaps the internet isn't for you. "Downvote spreads negativity" LOL. ❄️

I understand, but Down vote is currently being used improperly, they are meant to show if you dislike there opinion instead of just saying no, Awesome was for showing you loved there idea but not enough to up vote, Up Vote is voting to see if devs should implement the idea into the game, lol I still cry about and was used also improperly, it was meant to show that something was funny but then people used it on legion because of some reason and it was removed, having all the options back would be great, but some people can be immature sometimes and ruin things others enjoy or like

Killers mains are outnumbered here and are at risk of their comments getting downvoted by the majority and this may discourage them from contributing further, especially when their opinion is controversial.
The forum should be encouraging healthy debate. I can't argue my point against a survivor main who just clicks a downvote button.

Well I always say what I want to say and don't care about votes at all. I appreciate when people agree or disagree with me with respect and that is it. If they want to vote up or down it doesn't make any difference to me tbh.

Some arguments do require some amount of thought and a well put reason. Other's deserve nothing more than a frowny boy.

Its a button on a forum. It has very little meaning. You wont get banned if you are down voted too many times. You wont be restricted from posting. There is no time out corner for those with down votes. A button is not going to reduce or increase negativity. It does not have that much power.

@Mushwin Its a button, its not like they are killing everyone's first born with a down vote. If the "community" cannot handle a button being pushed, then "community" probably should not communicate with others online.

As I said in another thread on this topic, I believe the purpose of the down vote is to simply allow users to safely and discreetly disagree with someone's statement, because not everyone likes to have immature back and forth arguments...when you could just simply click on the down vote button, and move on.

I agree. There is no point to the vote down it just let's people be toxic and will get abused. I don't get why we can't just have vote up and leave it at that. We don't need anything else.
If you disagree with someone you should have to comment on it.

We'd like to keep it around for a while and see how it plays out first. It was originally removed because it had some unwanted functionality that would hide a post if it received too many down votes. In a normal forum, this might be nice since it essentially allows the forums to police itself, but with an asymmetrical game where everyone has a different opinion, that obviously doesn't work. We had to get rid of them originally.
Why bring them back, then? Well for starters, that doesn't happen anymore. Your post doesn't get hidden if it receives enough down votes. On top of that, it also helps show people that they're not alone if they disagree. When you open a thread, see something you disagree with, then see a dozen people agreeing with the OP, chances are you're not going to say anything. You'd think that you're the minority there and posting is like painting a target on your back and running naked through a paintball match. It sorta' becomes a mob mentality.
With down votes, though, you can anonymously show that you disagree, and others can do the same. When you see that half the people agree with the OP and the other half disagree, you'll be a little more comfortable explaining why. You'll know that if you say why you think something's a bad idea, there's going to be some people that have your back.
All that in mind, down votes do not prevent you from posting. You can have a controversial opinion and get down voted and that's okay. We are not going to be banning anyone just because they get down voted, and ultimately the number is just for show. It does not do anything, it's just a way for people to show how they feel.

Didn't they get rid of the "LOL" because of the trolls who would make new accounts and spam the "LOL" on posts they didn't like? They can do the same with "Vote Down."
EDIT: Not saying I'm for or against it. Just pointing out what I was told when I asked why the "LOL" button was removed.
