My take on the game

Hello.

I've been playing Dead By Daylight for half a year now, I think. I like how it can still give me a scare. lol. But there are a few things I would have changed, if given the chance. I'm still a casual player, so feel free to disagree (and voice it in a polite manner).

Also the game seems to be set in stone already, and any drastic changes would most likely make others angry. So I don't expect them to actually make it. They are just my thoughts. Unfortunately they make me enjoy the game a bit less.

-> Give each survivor a unique ability

Each killer plays very differently, but the survivors quite similar. So in my opinion it's just much more interesting to play the killers. And since it needs 4x as many survivors, there should be something to counterbalance it. Each survivor could have 1 unique ability he cannot change, but to make them stick out, boost them a level. Plus 3 (or 4?) additional abilities.

Also it seems to me that most survivors use the same abilities: self-care, adrenaline and sprint burst I see a lot.

-> Give every killer +3% movement speed (not too much)

At this point the game is pretty much figured out. So the things I experienced when I started, playing as noob with noobs, I don't experience any more. Which is hiding. More often than not the survivors just circle the killer, sometimes all of them in plain sight, and whenever the killer goes for one survivor, he can loop the killer around objects and from pallet to pallet. By the time the killer scores some hits, the others have rushed 3 gens and the game is nearly over. And then I hear people say stuff like "well the Cannibal(?) can only kill a survivor if he camps him".

-> alternative: make more possible spawn locations for the gens, so players have to look for them a bit, instead of immediately rushing into the right direction

-> Allow to turn your head while vaulting as killer

This lack of freedom is really irritating. The FOV is much smaller in the ego perspective than in real life and the survivors also can "hide" by standing right next to you, which means upon vaulting you have to look everywhere including the window you just came from. This is so very stupid. xD Mousemovement could be slower or obstacles like shoulders could impair the view, to balance it out.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the game could use a bit of a fresh wind. Your thoughts?

Survivors technically have unique abilities through their teachable perks. As every survivor is meant to specialize in a different area of play and has a difficulty rating. The issue is survivors don't actually interact with killers in traditional ways and their only objective is to fix generators. That means they don't really need anything particularly special also they have metric ton of items to diversify their 'role' on the team.

Good luck convincing other survivors or devs that any sort of change that could affect looping or gen completion is needed. People have raised the issue for years now and it has been met with a best silence and at worst complete dismissal.

Gens aren't locked to a single spawning location. They have a few patterns they cycle through. Survivors just tend to spawn near them more often than not.

Again, good luck getting people to agree with changes to the killer's fov.

Funny how your default answer to everything is "good luck convincing others". xD So does that mean, that the devs are again of that kind that doesn't give a crap about the communities feedback? I guess it's time to lose interest in a game again.

I just watched a random YT video where a guy said: "A killer who just plays the game to have some fun won't be able to catch any experienced survivor, and thus not have any fun". Hm.

I also noticed that killers don't have any collision detection with survivors, which makes it possible for the survivors to vault the window the killer just came from. Which is extremely stupid. And killers have a bigger radius than survivors, which means that for survivors looping objects is more effective than running away.

Things you notice when you get better at the game....

Yea. People who play only survivor shouldn't decide on changes to these things. xD Even if there are 4x as many of them. For example, giving +3% running speed to killers would excite me even as a survivor. When I get free wins, I feel bored, this would give me a challenge. But I guess not everybody feels that way.

All I can say is prepare for the worst, kinda my motto for this game as Killer, I have hundreds of hours as Killer but what really makes it fun is the different builds I make for different Killers and try to find a meta, gen rush can help be prevented by a high speed killer who can gen patrol rather than waste 2 years on one Survivor, it's not that the Survivor is good if they can loop you, most Survivors will run around the same pallet, you'll break it and then they move to then next one, killing is not hard, you just want to know when a Survivor is worth it and isn't, I think it's an interesting idea that Survivors would have special abilities, or something to make them better than another Survivor and worse at the same time.
