THE ENDGAME COLLAPSE BODYBLOCKING
From the time the EG was released, a new era of bodyblocking has started, killers bodyblock the gates, because they find the hatch in 3 seconds and you as a survivor can´t do anything, the killer keeps you hostage until you die. GG

Go to the other exit gate?
23 -
How is this even possible? There are 2 exit gates. Do they follow you from one gate to another?
9 -
Yep, the killer is faster than you and just goes and bodyblocks the gate you are at.
2 -
Heh, i just did this to a Meg.
I knew where the Hatch was, so i raced over there.
She found it too and was waiting.
So i got into position and mashed to close it.
Then the EGC started and while she tried to run to an Exit Gate Switch, i just stood in front of it.
My suggestion: Hide instead of thinking: "Ooooo, the Hatch! I win!".
Otherwise i couldn't have followed her.
9 -
My problem was, that last person got sacrificed and the killer found the hatch immediately like in 8 seconds, I waited for a bit to see him leave the gate, but the gates placement is horrible sometimes and you have no chance of escape
5 -
"this is from a killer main, not a boosted surv main"
Literally just go to other exit gate?
Also how come killer is faster than you to block both gates unless they got bloodlust tier 3? Is that possible?
7 -
Dude, he is 115% and surv has 100% they are faster, and just imagine going against a Billy or Nurse
4 -
If you are the last survivor you shouldnt even have a chance to escape. Hatch should be removed from the game.
4 -
lol I was about to say the same thing.
1 -
In your situation, there's 2 gates. If the killers protecting one go to the other.
I don't get why people think a third chance escape should be so easy even tho it already kind of is depending on where the hatch and gates spawn.
You Lost the game and failed your objective but you're given a second chance to escape via the Hatch. You loose the race to the hatch and the killer closes it and you get given a third less likely chance to escape. I don't see the problem here.
5 -
I mean the mechanic is kind of cool and I can see how it can make sense. All the weak people have already been killed of and the person who fought to the end has a chance, but it really should not be handed to you on a silver platter. I like how it is now. It is a race to see who can get to it first. If the killer finds it first then you are literally given a third chance to live with the gates. That is plenty and it should not be super easy, you have to outplay the other person to escape.
1 -
@Killernewb86 No it should not, Hatch has the closing mechanic now and hatch-standoff is gone, now its a race to the finish, if you fail, your last chance is exits

Fortunately there are two exit gates for just such a scenario!
But for real, if you're not the only survivor, you could always split up and go for two separate gates. If you are the last survivor and the killer finds you before you can open a gate, you're as good as dead anyway.

I´m sorry but when the killer at least finds you, he could kill you and not bodyblock the gates until the timer is out, he is faster than you and he just goes in front of you and bodyblock, it´s annoying
1 -
If he's doing that, just go AFK. No point in giving him the satisfaction of chasing you around.
2 -
This isn’t a problem for me what is is when your down and you try to crawl to the hatch the close it and you just have to sit and die lol it’s quite boring
1 -
I don't think body blocking means what you think it means.
2 -
Go around, or simply go to the other exit gate, or be a terrible person and rob there "Times Up!" points

I'd rather this was about how one sided the 1v1 scenario is now compared to them blocking off one gate. Case in point if you get found at any point (hello whispers) you've lost unless you have a key to re-open the hatch.
2 -
Almost like you aren't supposed to win a 1v1 in a 1v4 game, huh?
7 -
It promotes no reward for the survivor even though he played well all game. Made saves, did gens, broke chases. But his team died on him and now it's his turn without any way to get out himself.
2 -
I supose my strategy would be to dash to the uncamped gate, open it halfway, wait for killer to survey, and when they leave try to finish. Might get caught up in mindgames tho.
0 -
Your reward is a chance at hatch. Don't fail that too.
4 -
Not when they're faster then you, and have already scouted it out because their ONLY objective is to chase and see the map layout all game for free at no cost. You know how biased you sound?
3 -
*hatch spawns with 5 gens left*
Earned that reward, son.
It's almost like the game has been modified to ALWAYS give the last survivor a chance to escape in some type of new update!
8 -
If there is more than one survivor alive, you could always split up and work on separate gates. If you're the only one left and the killer is already on top of you, you're pretty much dead regardless. Since the End Game Collapse is brand new, people are going to want to see the sacrifice animation. This is be less common over time since downing and hooking the survivor rewards more bloodpoints than waiting for them to be sacrificed due to the Collapse.

Impossible to escape because 80% of the time the gates are too close each other, and if the killer is:
The trapper can trap the gates
Wraith can be invisible on the hatch and close istantly when the survivor is there
Billy can run too fast to have time to open a gate
Nurse always playing with omegablink so nochance
Plague can infect the gates
Etc.
There is no chance now to escape. Just increase the distance between gates to at least 124m.

yeah, they do, and if they have NOED they run faster. Happened to me a few times, even made a post complaining about one of these agonizing times. The killer was just staring and chasing me for a good 3 mins.
0 -
Yeah, it's not like he can chase you to the other gate and get you in 2 minutes! Thanks for your advice.
Maybe you can even read this post of how agonizing it can be just because the killer wants some laughs: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/62173/now-killers-force-and-abuse-egc-for-their-own-amusement/p1

Since i play Wraith, i can tell you this...
If you know they're a Wraith (and by the time you're the only one left, you better know who you're playing against), then you should definitely expect this tactic and do Generators/Exit Gate Switches instead.

If it's a 1v1 the timer should be the speed it is during injured status I think.
I don't really see it as a problem. Killer can only be one place at a time. You don't have to fully open the door in one go.
Do a little bit then go to the other if the killer is searching around.
0 -
Yeah, it's not like you only have 2 minutes to open a gate and get out. It's not like he can go from one gate to the other faster than you, either, especially if he's running NOED.
2 -
Nope, stop assuming how I feel about things because you know ######### about me.
I actually like it and find it fair so nobody can hold the game hostage for long periods, or for when the killer and the last survivor find the hatch at the same time and they stand still for 20 minutes until one of them gets bored and finishes it. But that doesn't justify that some people hold the game hostage for 5 mins "just to see the animation" (and yeah, it's 5 mins if you're downed, and they do this on purpose just to make it longer, clearly). So at the end we don't get rid of the "holding the game hostage", just put a timer on it to make it from 20 minutes to 2, which is cool, but are they now going free with it just because it has a timer?

It needs to be changed for the last survivor . I had a Wraith do this to me on the PTB .. he is much faster while cloaked and would race one exit to the other .
To fix this Either make the hatch spawn Earlier when 1 or 2 survivors die so that Survivors would have an equal chance to search for the hatch .
Or Adjust Exit gates spawn location making them on opposite corners of the map so killers would take a bit longer to patrolling exits .
Even then Trapper , Hag , billy and nurse still won't have a probelm.
Or make it so that the timer ticks slower if the killer has traps or camping by the exit.
As of now it's a handed free kill to the killer even if your team did nothing and you are the one who fixed 2 gens . You are still screwed .
As long as it stays like this you can just Shut down the Game and restart it ;) and keep your Pride.

It's four minutes if you're in the dying state. Not five, not three, four.
The EGC just came out. Let people enjoy it for a while. After three years of survivors actually holding the game hostage and forcing hatch standoffs, all to humiliate killers, not to mention the cool new animation, this is just how things are going to be for a while. It's no different from when a new killer is released and everyone starts playing it.
2 -
Its useless to talk with them, this forum is full of crying killer main
1 -
You can play around that. The killer may be faster but not fast enough to immediately get ahead of you. You can put distance between you and the killer or try to lose him. You can double back or bait the killer into guarding a different gate. You have ways around this so quit whining about something that's really not a problem.

Unfortunately, lack of dev foresight on the procedural system can spawn them on the same wall.
5 -
2m for basic and when someone is hooked slow down by a 50%. And the 50% of 2m is 1m, for a total of 3m. Facepalm
0 -
If you take one step every second, you travel a distance of 10 steps in 10 seconds.
If you take half a step every second (half the speed), you travel a distance of 10 steps in 20 seconds (twice the time).
This is high school math.
2 -
So? They still make it longer on purpose. Not two, but four minutes, on purpose, just to screw people. Still not fair. Get rid of the animation just like bleeding out had no animation, and less people will do it. Though they will still do it just because some people enjoy making others waste their time, but it will be less people. They made EGC something cool when they shouldn't. I even saw killers starting it at the start of the match for the sake of it. This isn't good for anyone, because people get less BP after a huge loading screen and will definitely be forced to depip. This has so many downsides.

Once it's no longer the shiny new toy that people want to play around with, then we can address these edge cases.
1 -
Devs did say this kind of stuff was going to happen. Some games Killers will get lucky with hatch and exit gates, other games it will be the Survivors turns. Sad to say that the days Survivors could hold games hostage and get easy hatch escapes are gone.
Also, guess who the a hole Killer is that will wait at the hatch for Survivors to come before he closes it so he can hunt them down? THIS GUY!!!

No one will ever admit to being wrong
2 -
Given the Vote Down my simple explanation received, I guess you're right.
4 -
If you are talking about me, I always let the last person go if they were playing good and fair
0 -
There are two exit Gates if the killer has already found you on his just blocking the exit gates to see The Entity kill
You were already dead to begin with.
1 -
How did they start EGC at the beginning of the match?
