How can Dark Devotion be useful?
Am curious on how it can be handy. Giving your obession your terror radius doesn't sound all that useful to me?

It's good if you use Coulrophobia & play a Killer they wanna heal against.
Other than that though, i've yet to even use it.

You use 2 perks slots to inflict a 50% healing speed debuff on 1 survivor for 20 seconds ? I don't call that good.
The sad truth is that Dark Devotion is just plain bad. Its awkward to use, as you have to find your obsession, hit them, then let them go and find someone else to take by surprise within 20 seconds.
Its a gimmick that might confuse the survivors a little bit if you manage to make it work, wich you won't be able to do consistently.

Was talking about the effect, not the build occupation.

I played against a Billy using DD the other day. Things were very confusing at times, for the entire game we thought he was running Tinkerer. But I haven't played against DD much if at all, so it's hard to tell when a killer has it. Once I see it more then it would be easier to counter.

honestly, it doesn't last long enough. I tried running spirit builds with it for the mind games and thats about as far as it goes. 20 seconds isn't near enough time for anything to be effective.

@thesuicidefox I can imagine it working well on Hillbilly, thanks to his amazing mobility. Whack the obsession and speed off to a generator.

So obviously theres nurse who can hit there obssesion and then blink back to a gen to try and get a grab.
Alternatively theres a fun (not competitive) freddy build ive been using. Basically you sleep all survivours run dress add ons to make escape hard.
Hit obssesion and creep up on other targets. Run this in conjunction with M&A so you have vision on surviours this will allow you to spread out dmg and sneak up on people since others won't see you coming if you move in at the right angle.
Its not easy since you have no anti loop so if your weak on your basic m1 chase mechanics and use perks to make up for that you will struggle.
I recomend M&A, sloopy butcher, ruin and dark devotion. Because your freddy you can keep tabs on your obssesion if you can keep them in dream realm so the perk can see a lot of use.
In motion its a scratch mirror myers with a 115% killer ms. With a rather tricky set up process. This is a fun solid build its not spirit fury and enduring but it allows you to take advantage of freddys power so its worth trying.

I really liked the idea behind Dark Devotion.
It doesn't have to be competitive or powerful, but just a tweak or two will make it useful and then it will become a VERY interesting perk to play with and against.

Your right it doesn't sound that useful. Because compared to other perks it isn't. I would suggest just using something else.

I really wanted to like Dark Devotion, but 20 seconds just isn't long enough. If they made it last 30 seconds with a 40 second cooldown, it might be more useful.

It's lack luster and not worth using atm imo. It only works on the obsession and doesn't even last that long. Not to mention you have to literally give up your pressure and let the obsession go after hitting him to HOPEFULLY find someone else.
It shouldn't even have a cooldown and even then the duration of it needs to last at least 10 seconds longer. They also need to make the change so that TR perks like Calrophobia will persist for like 10 seconds after leaving the TR like the survivor perks have.
Even if it got all those changes it still would only be OKAY and ran in some builds.

Space Coconut did a good roast of it.
Basically, it has too many restrictions to be that useful except in very specific conditions.
1) You need to hit the obsession
2) Other survivor(s) are nearby
3) Other survivor(s) don't see you
4) You can find those other survivor(s) in 20 seconds and hit one of them
So basically, it's pretty useless.
It's only somewhat meme-viable perk on:
1) Hag - Use Mint Rag, hit obsession, teleport to a marking somewhat near a generator and get a free hit, or grab off a generator while scaring the ######### outta them.
2) Myers - Save up to 99% Evil Within in T2. Injure the obsession. Find another survivor and pray they don't see you, go into T3... You can now instant down that survivor probably because they will be so very confused. It could go wrong because they might panic and look behind them, but not likely as they wouldn't hear any terror radius... Just the Tier up music for Myers.
