Skeleton Key Does Nothing
With how the hatch spawns now being 5Gens-(Number of Remaining Survivors) the skeleton key really sucks. For being and Ultra Rare item it doesn't feel that good to use as most games the condition needed for it won't be met you'll either die or escape with 3-4 anyways. Before you could do 2 gens and hunt for the hatch and have some wild matches but now it just doesn't seem useful anymore compared to how rare of an item it is.

If 1 survivor dies and you've completed 4 gens you can open it still?
If 2 survivors die and you've completed 3 gens you can open it still?
If 3 survivors die and you've completed 2 gens you can open it still?
What do you want to happen? The hatch to appear as soon as the game starts so you can escape? Please tell me the fun in that.

I strongly disagree. Keys have always been an "All or Nothing" thing. Out of all my play time, I can count with one hand the times I said to myself "If only I had a key...". The majority of the time, its either the Killer killing all 3 other Survivors anyway and finding the hatch without needing to use your key or you powering all generators and escaping through the gate.
If anything, the introduction of Endgame Collapse made keys even stronger. Just outlast everyone, wait for the Killer to close the hatch, locate the hatch (the heartbeat will give you a rough estimate of where they were) and escape. The Killer will be too busy focusing on the doors to search you around the hatch.

@Bumbo "Before you could do 2 gens and hunt for the hatch"
IF the killer killed your team. Then it would be open anyways.
And as PigNRun said you can open the hatch after killer closed it!

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding something, but hasn't it always been "5 gens - number of remaining Survivors" for Hatch to appear closed? The only thing that changed with Patch 2.7.0 with regards to how the Hatch spawns is that the Hatch now always spawns open for the last Survivor regardless of how many gens are finished.
