So when are you reworking the End Game Collapse.

Held hostage for 3 minutes? Every part of that sentence is wrong. It's 4 minutes, and it's not being held hostage if the trial will end. Talk to survivors who've been blocked in the basement for hours and tell them that you're being held hostage when the killer slugs you for 4 minutes.

It’s meant to be 3 minutes if what they said on stream is true. The fact it’s 4 minutes seems to be a mistake. If it’s not, even worse.
And of course it’s being held hostage. If you can do nothing but watch as you are kept there for as long as possible you are being held hostage. That the basement could be exploited to do that forever doesn’t change it’s the same experience even if much shorter.

So your suggestion is to have the Endgame Collapse start when there is only one Survivor because then Survivors can just look for the Gate instead of the Hatch.
Why does the Survivor not do that anyways? If the Killer closes the Hatch, they are right there to start opening the Gate. If the Killer just camps by the Hatch, it means the Survivor has time to start 99%ing gens. Either the Survivor finishes the gens and powers the gates to open anyways, the Killer leaves the Hatch open to look for you so you can jump in, or the Killer closes the Hatch and the gates are powered for the Survivor to open.

No. My suggestion is to trigger the end game collapse when there is one survivor left and remove the hatch closing ability so the survivor isn’t trapped and has a way out instead of having none.

BHVR has a very specific definition of "holding the game hostage" that involves the game not being able to end. Trapping someone in the basement while they have an active RBT, for example, does not meet their definition of holding the game hostage.

But they have their chance out with the Hatch. Why should that chance be permanent?

I wouldn’t report a killer for doing that as I am aware it is not considered griefing. Personally however I find it to be the same. Just like I never blocked anyone in the basement or held the game hostage hiding around, I find this new griefing potential of the End Game Collapse toxic and unnecessary.

Because finding the hatch is considerably more difficult as a survivor without being seen, and the moment it’s closed and the timer starts, it’s pretty much a guaranteed sacrifice.

Its not getting reworked or nerfed this is how it is dont like it dont play

Timer should be longer if it a solo survivor with at least 2 gens done.

What EGC has removed from the game is a close match, the best kind.
Now every match is one sided, either killer gets 4k or survs genrush to open the gate.
When skilled survivors are against a skilled killer, 2 men dead 3 gen done is a likely scenario. Then it doesn't matter who finds the hatch first, because good players find it "closed" before it becomes available.
And if 2 survivors are remaining and only 2 gens are done , better not pop the 3rd. Popping the 3rd gen and making the hatch visible will seal their fate. A long slug and EGC.
I just miss a great showdown of good survivors vs good killer, but it's gone after the update.

The killer being unable to close the hatch but the timer still existing would end hatch standoffs because the survivor can't just stand there and wait for the killer to hit him. The survivor HAS to go try a gate or die by the entity. I would prefer this method over the current since the current is one-sided and in the killers favor unless by some miracle the gates are on opposite sides of one of the large maps, which they rarely are. This would put pressure on both killer and survivor. Killer would have to decide if they want to camp hatch or check gates. Survivor would have to decide if going for a gate would be the better choice versus waiting for the killer (who probably knew where the hatch was already and ran straight to it) to leave the hatch. Either way, the match would be over in 4 minutes with neither player feeling completely cheated.

If need be the killer can open the gates causing egc to start only way around it as I see

Because finding the hatch as survivor without being seen is considerably more difficult and dooms most outcomes to be: hatch closed with no way out. Just wait for the sacrifice.
