Give us adjustable sound levels.
I'm not exactly sure why we need to beg for this, since it's included in almost every game, since games were run on DOS. But let me tell you a story. A short one.
The other day a friend of mine bought DbD because he saw that I play it a lot. So I hop into a couple games with him, have some fun, and then do a bit of 1v1 Kill Your Friends, so i could teach him the basics of escaping a killer.
This is where the problem was. The only way he was able to understand me in the game, once I got close, was if I was the pig, and crouching, or he completely muted the game.
The chase music is there to add some drama to the chase, as well as alert you (the survivor and the killer) that you are in a chase. So why is it we can't adjust the music levels? Why can't we increase game sounds?
"The killer could up his sounds to find survivors better"
Sounds on this game have ranges (and there are perks that adjust these ranges) So, essentially, your arguement is "what if a killer hears a sound he was supposed to hear?"
This one simple fix that's in almost every single game, competative and casual, would fix a large chunk of sound bugs.

Chase music is supposed to be loud and annoying for the same reasons gen poping and hooking bubbles are obnoxiously big, stop you from seeing anything in that direction and last forever. To make it harder for the killer to find survivors and vice versa.

yes, killer hearing the sounds he's supposed to hear, is game breaking.
Again, sounds have ranges for a reason in this game.
Also works for survivors too.

I wish we could adjust the music down as well. Not a crazy amount. Maybe up to 20%.

We have an unpopular opinion I guess? This makes 0 sense. But i guess people think that chase music should cover up all sounds for a killer? Fun times. People need that much of a crutch. But i guess they are happy trolling killers.

Well, then it's a bad design decision from the devs. There is a difference between making music distracting and making it not only annoying but also blasting your ears away. This game has to many ear rapes.

Turn down chase/background music? Yes.
Give ability for player to adjust sound levels? No. It's a very purposeful design to balance the game. If I had the ability to adjust sound on my own, no survivor would ever be able to hide from my 7.1 headphones. They can barely do it as is right now, I hear survivors moving and breathing all the time. Minor things too, not even footsteps. Grass moving, or a crow a full tile away, is enough.
Chase music is definitely too loud though. It should be toned down a bit so it's not deafening.

I don't see the issue.
If the problem is balancing other sounds being drowned out, then make their volumes automatically lower when the other music is meant to be obscuring them.
Being able to almost mute chase music wouldn't have to make everything else easier to hear, just make them quieter while in a chase regardless.
I shouldn't have to be deafened by chase music to hear survivor/myers breathing at regular volume like you're meant to.

This does not seem to cause an issue with literally any other game.
And again. Sounds have a range.

Any other game isn't designed around an asymmetrical version of hide and seek. Being able to hear better in a shooter, for example, doesn't ruin the balance of the game because 1) the other side isn't trying to strictly hide from you, and 2) they can fight back.
Even other asymmetrical games aren't based around hiding from a player.
DBD is a very unique type of game and therefore needs unique types of balance.
