Make Korean Characters Visible instead of Rectangles!!!
This is not just for Korean Characters, but for Chinese, Japanese, and a few other languages. It's crazy how DBD doesn't allow us to see the Characters! Like do the Devs have to be that lazy to just do rectangles for unrecognized letters? Come on. The Asian Community would probably love to have their names to be seen, as of I would like to put my username in Korean. Let's get the Devs to be equal!

I agree.
On the other hand, there are a lot of weebs that put random Japanese characters as their name.

Does that matter?

That's not a problem.

so... the way those characters work is that they have to be programmed into the system in order to be recognized. The rectangles are placeholder values that basically are the same as a broken link or a broken image. there's a huge chance that no one at the company can speak korean, chinese, etc. etc. so there's no one to code the language.
assuming that there is someone that knows both how to code and how to read/write those languages - you then have to think that they might not be coding with a system that supports those languages - which would require an entire port of the gaming software to another coding system.
and then you might want to consider what is more cost effective when considering the average player base per server.
it's not as simple as it sounds. there's a reason why translators and programmers are paid roughly $40/hour on average.

Hmmm, no.
DbD is made in UE, so it most likely uses c++ as its primary coding language. Implementing Unicode characters to c++ - while being a bit time-consuming - shouldn't be too complicated.
I do agree that the devs have more important stuff to look on.

It's not about translating everything because they don't have to. All they have to do is Code the Korean Characters because the people that put it in their name translate it. Or they just put nonsense which is not important.
Their Cosmetics are selling like hotcakes as well, so I don't think it would hurt to make a small effort to have equality in the game. I bet the Asian Community kinda feels left out. I mean what were the Devs thinking to only have English Characters coded and they have the game in different languages? For Example, Korean.
That's why it's a no brainer.

The reason they're boxes is because the font doesn't support the languages. If they didn't make the font, then they can't alter it, and thus cant do it themselves.

Then use a dynamic font that is compatible with Unicode?
Revert to a san-serif or serif as a last resort.
