now they're just going afk

Since the post from the dev's about the d/c ban threshhold being adjusted to previous levels, people have a new tactic.

They just go afk. That's right, they just minimize the game and do somehting else until the end. No d/c penalty, and no 4th player for the survivors. Everyone wins!

I just don't know what they can do at this point. it's not fun to go into a game and have people just leave after their hook. Regardless of what role you are playing.

Maybe a casual mode might help? That way people wanting to play "seriously" can play ranked and avoid these kind of things. But that's not a guarantee. It might help some, but i doub't it'de solve the problem. What's your thoughts on it? How can BHVR get us back to having decent(ish) games again?

Ban them. If they don't want to play the game, that's their choice, but they have no right to ruin everyone else's trials.

I had a killer dc after we did all five gens, not just a normal dc they closed their application so no bloodpoints or adept Tapp. -.- I wished they’d just went afk..

@Orion If it is like the OP describes then yes but just going afk every once and awhile should be ok.

Dedicated Servers > Collect data > Implement DC fix/punishment(of which they should have plenty of suggestions for at this point)

For the time being: If player goes afk, report them after the match. Who knows, maybe if they get enough reports for it BHVR might do something.

Unlike DCing (which collects data automatically), you can report them for AFKing.

Yeah I've been seeing this and just running up to the killer to suicide. I've even been seeing some Fogwhisperers doing it off stream to derank on purpose.

Some problems have no solutions. Should we auto ban every Survivor and Killer that ever goes idle or decides to halt their side's progress? I see more Killers rage idle than Survivors (who typically rage quit), and I never really thought about them needing banned.

Suiciding on hook is legit though. If I'm hooked and see the Doc standing nearby waiting for a rescue attempt as two of my allies hide in lockers for the next 2 mins and the other is UE'ing in a corner... I'm not staying there staring at myself on a hook... then spamming space bar... for the chance I may be saved and downed again. Time to see Nea.

And I'm not sure a Clown going into the basement and staring at the chest as he's down 4 gens and the SWF team is now trying to farm BPs off him really needs punished either. There's matches you simply don't want to be part of anymore.
