Change the perk Leader so that it notifies at any time.
Differently from perks like "Vigil" or "Streetwise", where they inform other survivors they're benefiting from the aura the moment they walk into range. The perk "Leader" does not notify survivors they're benefiting from the perk at all until they are doing an action where Leader affects its speed (Healing, opening gates, cleansing etc.).
Suggestion is very simple and it would be a huge QoL: Notify the survivors at any given time that they're in the perk's aura even while not doing anything. "Streetwise" already does that even though you're not using an item so why wouldn't leader act in the same way? I'm sure people who use Leader would love this change.

The difference is streetwise and vigil r constant effects whilst leader only takes place when doing an action

This isn't good enough reason not to notify people when they're in the aura. People would be more inclined to cleanse totems or search chests with the speed bonus from leader! How many times you're in a match, do anything that's not repairing and be like "Oh damn this guy has leader!".
By your logic, the notification of "Streetwise" should only kick in with using an item since it affects them exclusively.

Like @Aari_Piggy66 said above the perk only activates when you're doing a specific action that goes with said perk. I don't see how its "not good enough" for a perk that only works within 8 meters.
(But I wouldn't mind seeing it implemented if they decide to change it.)

Because 80% of the time you're probably working on a generator by the time someone comes to you with leader of viceversa. You never know someone has it until you do those specific action which honestly doesn't make that much sense.
Let's take for example that I just unhooked someone and I've got to heal him, there's a guy slightly far away from me and, since I don't know he/she has leader and benefiting from the healing boost I heal the guy just under the hook, losing precious seconds.
Or another: We are 3 people on the last gen and complete it. Since I don't know that one of my teammates has leader I follow the other guy by mistake, not benefiting from the buff to open a gate faster.
I honestly don't see why you guys wouldn't have this type of change lol.

I'm not against the change, i'm just not agreeing that its that urgent of one.
To me personally it doesn't make a difference if its a AOE type perk or if it activates from specific actions but hey that's just me. I think this because the meters to activate it in the first place are only 8, so its not really that big of a activation ring to begin with.

Hopefully it is added to the list then.

I honestly don't know how to do this since I never did in the first place :(

Upping this up, I'd like to have a dev answering the thread.

It's not a good reason because you lose literally nothing by letting the other survivors know there is Leader or Prove Thyself going on.
All of these buff perks should show up on the notification when they are in effect on you, there's no reason not to, other than Killer wanting survivors to be nerfed and doing suboptimal things more.
Leader is alerady a bad perk as it is after the rework, this buff would at least make it a solid perk to bring and not something pretty much nobody uses because you almost never get any mileage out of it.

Agreed except on the bad perk part. Speeding everything up can be of difference in a match since almost nobody cares for things such as cleansing totems or opening chests. Leader incentivize that and helps making survivor's gameplay more dynamic imho.

It's a very bad perk. Leader+Prove Thyself together in the same perk is a good perk, but not 2 slots.
