5 gens left and hatch spawn?
Man oh man people, especially 4SWF gonna abuse this one + DC to give a person a escape. It's more understandable when 1 gen done, 1 person left and hatch spawn with new EGC. This way they have to do something before they can escape, but now they don't have to do anything and can still escape.
Imagine lower rank players gameplay, they might be so scared that they would hide, walk, hide... from the start of the game for the whole match just to wait for the hatch to spawn or just camp the gate and wait for the killer to close it.

I don't see much of an issue. Survivor has to be lucky: killer has the advantage of faster movement, so it's usually him/her who finds the hatch first. Plus, if you 3K-d while there are still 4 or 5 gens to do, you already have a neat amount of Gatekeeper points and probably in the other categories too, whereas the remaining survivor most likely has not done enough gens to pip up.
Luck has always been a factor in this game, and necessarily so. Kind of a way to give casual/less skilled players some chance too. Finidng a purple key in a chest, hatch spawning next to you and so on: these are precious moments too. Not saying it's not better when every player in a game is amazing, they all give their best and in the end the bestest man wins, but there's some fun to have with random luck too.

It's not about pipping or killing or that much of luck. But the survivors must at least DO SOMETHING, even 1 gen is enough before they get awarded a chance to escape. Think of AFK-ing more like hiding all the time to avoid the crows, waiting for 3 people to die and then leave. (Mostly lower rank players) Once again, not about pipping.

"Counterbalance" to hatch closing and EGC.
Totally free escape vs "closing that free escape but giving them another chance. But with a timer this time".
Should check if there are some "exactly 7000 bloodpoints escapes"-videos.

you realize the hatch spawns on last survivor just so the game ends in a reasonable time, to prevent an unreasonable amount of time of urban immersion

If you want to go back to the old days of the hatch, just say so.

TBH... i like this new hatch, even if its annoying when 1 person escapes with 5 gens left... but i prefer this, than fecking endless hide & seek.
