Is it just me? Or are sounds messed up again?

Its gotten to a point to where I can't track downed survivors or injured ones. Its like playing deaf.

Sounds have been ######### for many months now. The developers finally acknowledged it in the last livestream they had but it'll probably take many more months before they actually fix it.

Sounds haven't worked for a long, long time. Anytime it gets somewhat fixed they brake almost immediately again. Sadly for a game that uses sound so much It's not very reliable.

A big problem is how they use audio occlusion, If a 99% generator which is very loud is behind a wall it gets muffled and quietened so much to the point where you can barely hear it. This alone is a huge part of the problem along with missing footsteps, survivors audios disappearing and extremely loud chase music.

Apparently they are working on fixing how they implement sounds but to be honest after months and months of the same issues I'm doubtful, But I hope I'm wrong.

The problem comes with finding where the sounds are coming from. It feels its no longer directional, so you have to sort of Sonar your way to find the source. Ive lost multiple slugs from this. It feels so off.

They are pretty busted. It's especially noticeable on sound dependent killers like Spirit.

Only survivals hear their footsteps, agony and breathing.

Killer hears only loud chase music...

I agree completely. I wish they would have an option to disable chase music. I've been listening to almost the same music for 3 years, a disabling feature would be a lifesaver. It would also open up more opportunity for Killers to perform well, as they would learn to use sound to their advantage as much as possible. Listening out for things like breathing and footsteps can really separate a good killer from a mediocre one, but its so hard to take advantage of these when you have things like your own footsteps, your own breathing, and loud blaring chase music.

Yes they're broken. And it makes Killer life mostly an exercise of futility.

I hope they can fix them soon yada yada

They're so inconsistent. Some maps like Lery's, they're OK but on maps like Yamaoka Estate or Coldwind farm hearing is literally impossible.

I occassionally hear Ash talking when ever I go to the main menu of the game, even though I am using Dwight not Ash.

This in particular bothers me, I tend to play stealth killers and used to like standing close to a locker to hear a survivor or in the next room to hear a generator now I just have to burst in and take the 50/50 chance there's someone in there especially in some of the game map areas. I also watched a comparison with surveillance and it's not that much different.

It's just so weird how from survivors POV you can hear your footsteps and breathing and feel loud when injured but to killer you're lucky if you can hear a survivor at all, the own footsteps and breathing as a killer thing is so accurate, if it's not that it is the chase music, sucks when you're trying to locate someone and another survivor tries to bait you into a chase so you get blaring music while trying to find an injured or downed survivor.
