Feels impossible to play survivor without SWF
Title, I'm trying to play survivor and with an SWF its all fine, fun and you have a chance at "winning". The second I play with randoms there are DC's everywhere.
For example someone got hooked in 30 seconds of the game, insta DC. That game ended up having 2 dc's yet I de-pip because of their actions? How does that make any sense in a ranked system. "Oh you lose pips because your teammates troll".
Ridiculous

Im sure people feel the game is impossible to win when they get hooked in under 1 or 2mins (not talking about the hooked survivor wins, I mean impossible for whole survivor team to wins - 2 survivors survive is a win to me, 4k is a lose). Zero Objective progressed but a hook is already happen.
Gen is the only main objective, survivors have to fix gen to escape. Killers patrol gen to know where survivors are. Sometime Killer & Survivor spawn close enough that a Survivor just tap a gen then he already hear terror radius. Sometime it was a Doctor that he has no chance to hide/evade from Doctor's searching. The chase started and a hook happens in the 1st min.
You feel you're going to win when a gen is done (20% progressing) and no one get hooked. That happens with 4 survivors spawn together that far from Killer as possible without Hex ruin.
There should be a 2nd Objective that force Survivors to do before gen. An Objective that Survivor must do without high chance to be chased by Killers. Then reduce gen fixing time a little bit.
Make survivors feel they're in the match long enough to make DC less happen. Punish for DC is still a should though.

Last time I went for Rank 1, it was pretty easy. You get the occasional troll team, and potato survivors, but overall the people I played with were good enough that I could support them, and they supported me.
Stop looking to escape every match. Go in with a gameplan of getting a gen or two (maybe a totem), unhook someone, heal a bit, and get chased for a little. That will get you a pip easily. If you escape, even better because you might just get a double. As soon as you stop thinking "I need to escape" and start thinking "I need to support my team and do a nice balance of things" your matches will become much less stressful and those pips will pile up.
I play solo survivor almost exclusively. Getting pips is simple, you just have to learn to be patient and make sure you are taking every advantage you can in gaining those emblem points (and BP of course) throughout a match. Do not do stupid things like unhooking in front of a Killer because that actually hurts your emblems. Reasonably safe unhooks, and if you can heal that person too, are an excellent way to get your pips easier.

Its possible , i got 1 year and 6 months playing
Without friends but its more hard to play

The game is only impossible to win if you DC when you get downed.

I don't like playing with friends either (ruins the immersion for me). Not to mention, it's pretty disgusting given the huge advantage your friends have over the killer.
If matchmaking did its job, life would be better for everyone.

@Mister_Holdout I actually agree with you about it ruining the immersion. I also am not the best team player so most my friends now refuse to SWF with me because I end up sandbagging them(only half the time on purpose). Now the only time I run SWF is with my wife. That really isnt SWF though, its her finding ways to sandbag me before I sandbag her. I think most killers love when we load in their lobby, we do half the work for them.

That's one of the reasons I don't totally hate SWF. Some of them are there to have fun, and not completely ruin the killer's game.

Honestly, I think most SWFs are there to have fun. Not to say there are not those who make it a point to try to troll or bully in game, but I think most are just having fun with their friends. I think SWF gets a bit of a bad rep at times.

You know, I have only ever gotten into the same lobby with a killer once. Every other time I always play someone new. Or maybe I just forget some names.

try to be the best on loopíng and let the potatoes do the gens.. is the only way to play solo.

The level of frustration playing Solo is definitely much higher than playing together with friends. But its not impossible, of course.

Stop caring about winning.
Seriously, I for example don't give a ######### if I escape or die.
Just try and have fun, loop the killer, save teammates, that's the fun part. Escaping is nothing except 5k extra bloodpoints.
If someone dc's early on, dc aswell. There's no punishment and why should you play a boring match because some douche decided to disconnect?
I was sweating and tryharding every match when I actually cared about winning and when I wanted to rank up. Once I reached rank 1 I stopped caring about everything and I've been having way more fun since. After all it's just a game, who cares...

You've reached rank 1, but maybe op hasn't yet and actually wants to go for. Hell I had wanted to push to red ranks until I was looking at my achievements page and saw I already had did that at some point. After that I relaxed a lot about what I wanted from the game.

they announced an ongoing DC banwave AND upcoming changes with the dedicated servers.
i have high hopes!
DCs really ruin the game atm.

It's not impossible, but it's significantly harder than SWF.
I still don't understand why they haven't added something for Solo players. Why aren't there some UI icons next to survivors to indicate what they're doing? Chased, repairing a generator, cleansing a totem, etc. Why isn't there a dull totem counter? I just don't understand. And tbh I don't think that something like this would be hard to implement.

SWF has a lot of benefits Solo players do not. Not only is coordination better, but they actually care if you have a good game and are more likely to avoid DCing on you or leaving you to die. Part of me wonders if the ranking system was set up with SWF in mind since teamwork is so important for gaining ranks. It's also reliant on the other team being good, too, unfortunately. I wonder if some are still having issues with getting stuck in the higher ranks.

@FeelsVeryBadMan My only guess as to why something like that hasn't been implimented would be that people have a ton of different ideas and they don't know what approach they should go with. Additionally, some seem to think adding support for Solo would be OP and they want Killers buffed first.

What do you think if Match making use math to pick players with this formula: 1 survivor rank = killer rank /2 (+-2) ; 3 survivors rank = killer rank (+-2). For example:
Killer: rank 18
Survivors: one has rank 7-11; other are around rank 20-16
Killer: rank 10
Survivors: one has rank 3-7; other are around rank 8-12
Killer: rank 4
Survivors: one has rank 1-4; other are around rank 2-6
In low rank game, Killer is easier because there is no survivor who good at looping. In high rank, Killer would take forever to down a survivor. I think its more fair to put 1 good survivor into 3 low rank survivor, there will be someone at least who can loop/juke for at least a min or 2, that can buy time for other low rank survivors to do totems/gen. Its will be Killer's job to notice who is the highest rank Survivor to ignore and find others.

Why are there no advantages to playing in solo?
Recently, solo takes time because swf is preferentially matched.
When solo is brought in an item, the room is disbanded by the killer.
If you do not want to abolish swf, at least solo should increase BP.

That makes 0 sense.
Why should they buff Killers first? The most logical way is to bring Solos much much much closer to SWF, and then they can start to balance around SWF.
