Matchmaking is horrible on console
Can easily get into match as survivor but man , if you want to play killer at rank 9-11, prepare to wait 20 minutes . I been playing this on console since 2017 and it never was this bad before . What’s going on ??

It's funny because I'm on PS4, playing since the 2017 release like you, but I have the exact opposite situation . I never really have any trouble getting into a game as killer, but for some reason, it takes forever to get into a survivor game . I'm not in that rank range though, maybe that has something to do with it. And who knows, maybe dedicated servers will address this.

I have the opposite issue as well on ps4....
Killer at all ranks is instant. Survivor takes ages

Same, killer rank 10 imo take 10 min. + and surv rank 9 take 3-4 min.

It’s ridiculous ! So I’m forced to play solo survivor if I want to play but I have potatoes as teammates or I can wait 10+ minutes each game as survivor . I miss the days when can instantly find people

Killer is usually pretty instant for me. Survivor usually takes about 3 to 5 minutes for me.

The Problem is people complaining about Rank disparity When they Removed Regional / rank restrictions I got lobbies as survivor instantly it was great .. yes unfair for beginners but they should give people the option to choose between waiting for same rank or choosing to go with whatever rank right away .
I've been keeping an eye on PS4 session from Quick menu while searching and noticed that it does find other players within 2-3 minutes but then disbands that group of player and re-search , sometimes several times . While i am getting green pings most of the time i am unhappy with this . Last time it was much better

Yes matchmaking is cancer but since i played the game the first time the queues take 10min solo survivors but, 30min SwF. Killer is almost instant 30s max.
I know ranks have a role in this but when the new matchmaking was released they were instant (survivor and killer). I hope dedicated servers will fix this.

Usually always longer to find survivor matches for me over killer. And when I can’t find a match for killer either, I do something else and maybe try again later. It seems like certain times of the day come into play when looking for matches too.

My survivor matches take light years to find only for the killer to dodge because reasons. My killer lobbies are instant tho so that's nice.

The very weird thing was 1-2 weeks ago, when my killer and survivor ranks were almost the same. For both roles, I had to wait several minutes! And that doesn't make sense. I get that one role has to wait when there aren't enough survivors or killers, but waiting for both roles at the same rank?
I'm on PS4 EU btw.
