New Hatch conditions: More DCs and more suicides.

Devs, I'm pretty sure you know about the J.C. Penney's Effect, right?

By removing the hatch condition, you basically removed all the half-match thrill for the survivors, huge mistake IMO. If we're on a match and a guy gets hooked twice while there are still 4 or 5 gens left, it's highly likely that he will suicide.

Why? because you removed the need to stay, he'll go to a new game and we'll all be stuck here on a (most likely) death sentence, you removed the "ok, there is an intermediate goal of doing at least 2 gens", it feels like we're never going to do 4 gens with 3 people, it feels distant, so why bother? Why do the second gen? or the third gen? if at any time we'll snowball and all die? every gen feels meaningless (unless the killer is really bad and can be looped like A LOT). Even if we manage to do it, the process feels meaningless and boring. At that point I just feel I'm playing for the points of repairing and farming my teammates not to depip, I have already lost the interest in the match. I'm not having fun anymore, I'm farming.

Did you make it easier to get the hatch? YES, you did! no need to do gens, it will open when the last survivor is alive even if there are 5 gens left.

Is it more fun? does it FEEL better? No. It takes away the thrill of trying so hard to do AT LEAST 2 gens so one of us escape. The escape doesn't seem deserved, because we basically acomplished nothing, and also the killer probably deserves a 4k on a (probably) really good performance, but he gets a 3k, makes no sense.

It used to be really fun when we were so close to do the second gen on a bad match so one of us would get the hatch, and I was at the edge of my seat watching the last guy trying to find the hatch because we worked so hard to do it. Now there is no point. I don't even spectate because I don't care anymore. Now 2v1 and 4 gens left? I call the killer for him to kill me, I don't care about dying, I care about having fun, and there is no point in even trying to extend the match any further.

Hope this feedback helps.

I agree... the killers have same issue as well... you are no more feeling this thrill to stop survivors from completing 2 gens, now its... whatever, there is no difference between 5 and 1 gen...

Wait, there is a difference, you actually want the survivors to complete enough gens, so you can find the hatch and prepare to close it instead of looking for it when its opened... its actually better to not do your job of protecting the gens of being done.

But well... it necessary evil to prevent 30+ minutes long games of urban evasion.

Yeah, it's good if the hatch spawns AND you find it as killer... but at that point you probably have a 3k secured. So it's like... meh, whatever. Also, if the doors are far apart, closing the hatch is actually worst for you, because you have to guard both doors and unless you're hillbilly, spirit or nurse, the last survivor will most likely get away.

Could I ask the devs to run the numbers? Are there more DCs and suicides than previous seasons?

Hatch closer wasn't the only change made recently that upset some players. You could make the same argument that the ranking system is a cause of several DCs.

Truth of the matter is there are too many thin skinned people playing the game.

I honestly just get myself killed when everyone else dies because there's no point in trying to find the hatch. Find the hatch just to have the killer sit over it and close it once your near it. Then you have to just sit there and wait for the endgame timer to run out cuz the killer is going to just leave your dying body on the ground.
