A way to disable end chat

I've been practicing new killers lately and with being a baby killer comes the infamous survivor harassment. Its got me thinking that it would be nice for killers to have a way to disable the end game chat from the start.

9 out of 10 matches you have survivors being rude and nasty in chat. (Not just gg ez or whatever, full on spamming, telling you to #########, they seem to have that ######### ready and waiting in their clipboard to throw before you even get in the lobby! Either way, if reports don't work it would be nice to have the ability to disable end chat from the start. I know most killers have their Steam profiles set to private to prevent harassment from just extending there as well, I'm not sure if its possible to prevent people from doing that another way since it seems a bit of a shame to have to hide your profile.

Anyway, wishlist for me would be:

  • More moderation (There doesnt seem to be anything discouraging people from being rude at the moment? I see repeat offenders quite frequently.)
  • A way to disable end chat for killers (Completely, not just click the leave lobby button as fast as you can)
  • A way to prevent survivors from extending rudeness to steam profiles without having to make your whole profile private.

Or, and this is just a crazy person talking, but... Maybe, just ignore it. No one is forcing you to look down at the bottom right.

As much as I'm all for the "suck it up and ignore it" idea, it does make playing the game a pain for newer players or just players who want... a nice game experience in general. And yes I'm well aware that its an M rated game, and I'm all for letting people swear and whatnot, but behavior that damages the experience for others isn't usually tolerated even in M rated games.

Regardless, its just a suggestion that might make moderation easier and give players a choice about what sort of communication they prefer.

Reports work, there's a button next to the chat (looks like this ») you can press to close it for that session, report people to Steam if they leave comments on your profile (or just make comments friends-only), and there are actual punishments for those attitudes as long as you actually report them so the mods can see it.

Ignoring the problem is the best way to guarantee it never goes away.

I really don't understand this whole talk about the common toxicity in this game... its such a rarity for me to meet someone toxic in this game (excluding lately playing survivor, with a record on a player count, there is a record of hackers and lagswitches i think...)

Practice, get better and win win win. Some people will still talk trash, but it doesn't hurt if they do it after you wiped the floor with them. Don't report. Trash talk is part of gaming culture.
