Freddy Rework Question
So with the release of the info on ma boi I am intrigued but I think something was left out of the reveal.
So Survivors now passively fall asleep, cool, and there are places to wake themselves up, ok, but if Freddy can attack Survivors at any point during the transition, why do they need to Wake Up?
What is the real difference for a Survivor to be Awake and Asleep? Right now if you're asleep it means you can be hit and Freddy can track you, with the rework the hit portion is gone so can Survivors still be tracked? We know waking up is important but it was not said why it was still important since the repair speed debuff was also taken out so I'm left here curious as to what's missing.

@Mc_Harty Meh, I don't really see that as a dire need to wake up. I'm one of those people who actually enjoy Ruin as a Survivor.

The devs are the real killers of the game. They already killed Legion and mangled Pig, Freddy is next :-(

@RoKrueger I'm going to miss OG Freddy and I am truly scared about his new power but he's my main man so I gotta try his new ability out. I'm interested in it, I hope the snare they mentioned is one of his Base abilities and not an add-on because then he'll be truly powerful. When the PTB comes out I'll be all over criticizing it with a fine tooth comb but know this, his new power actually makes sense now, his abilities are actually related to his character now so that's cool.
I hope some day they'll get permission to get his New Nightmare outfit <3

I wouldn't be surprised due to how differently Freddy will play. We might end up getting a second Adept Nightmare achievement/trophy.

The downside to being asleep is something I'm still waiting to hear. The only thing mentioned is that it makes you vulnerable to the dream pallets and dream snares. At first impression that doesn't sound like a reason to want to wake up at all. It all depends how dangerous and viable they make them though.
They also mentioned when asleep you will hear the lullaby instead of a heartbeat, but I don't see how that's any better. Both are louder or quieter based on distance and neither are directional, so I don't see the downside here.
