Default interactions PS4
I posted about this some time ago, and was suggested to look into interface. well I have and there's no option for this, so here we go.
Please change default to pallet when close to a pallet and you hit R1, instead of self care, same for when you are attempting to unhook while injured. It ruins the game.
Or if you just tap R1 it should pull pallet, but if you hold R1 then self care, please do something.

You can change the controls in the settings but I never found a button that worked better for me. If you want to throw down the pallet then you need to look at it. If you want to heal then look at the ground or in the other direction. Sucks when a killer is chasing you and you're trying to mind game, though.
I also love when you go to unhook someone but you're .01 mm further away from the hook than you think you are, so you heal instead of unhook.

You can change some of the buttons, but unfortunately the interactions are still grouped together, so you can't change healing, vaulting, escaping through the hatch, etc. separately.
I changed it so actions like vaulting and dropping a pallet (the first category of actions) are the Square button, while healing, using items, repairing, and escaping through the hatch (the second category of actions) are still R1.
Sucks, because the main problem I was trying to fix at the time was that, in the dying state, I'd press R1 to escape through the hatch, but the game would try to Recover, instead, even if I was maxed out on Recovery. Those actions are grouped together, though, so I can't bind them to separate buttons.
At least healing and throwing down pallets are separate buttons, so I no longer have to worry about that.
I would definitely prefer it if I could bind each action separately, though. It gets confusing to have vaulting as a survivor be the Square button but vaulting as a killer be R1.

It's not a matter of being too far, it's a matter of default controls. Make it so you can't self care when within unhooking distance from a hooked survivor. Make it so you don't self heal until you've held down R1 for half a second, if you are by a pallet and hit R1 and release faster than half a second then it will pull pallet, same with window. If you are next to a window and tap heal, you vault, but if you hold it for at least half a second you begin healing.
That will be fairly simple to code, and will be a wonderful quality of life for survivors on console.
For example, If you are full health, and try start to unhook a survivor, but get hit by killer, and then you try to R1 to unhook again while the killer is wiping their weapon, guess what, right now you'll most likely stand there as an idiot self caring right next to your dying teammate and the killer smiling only to hit you again. I've tried holding L1 to keep from healing in these situations, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
