Give camped survivors Distraction points while killer’s Chaser emblem is being penalized
Is there a reason this can’t work, cause it would seem to make perfect sense. They are occupying the killer when he fits the criteria to have chaser penalized (within 16m of hook, not in chase, no survivor within radius..). Id call that a distraction. While I am no dev, it would seem to be pretty easy to implement, since everything is basically in place for it already. I don’t know how many points to give, but obviously the longer it goes on the more points you get. I know people would still hook suicide (or DC), but I think the person knowing the killer is giving them additional points would certainly help some.

i really hope they add this to the game

Me too, it’s unlikely they’ll ever slow the hook progression, so at the very least this seems like such a simple thing to add in. Like I said, the manner in which to get the points is already in place! Just flip it to give points as well.

I've been saying for a long time that while in a chase or on a hook being camped you should get points when generators are worked on/finished. You are allowing the other survivors to finish gens by distracting the killer. Currently if you get chased for 5 gens and escape you likely won't pip. That's insane to me. You ran the killer for so long that you won your team the game and still managed to escape, but were punished for it. It doesn't have to be a 1:1 ratio of points, but you should still get a decent % of the gen points for distracting the killer. Same thing if the killer camps. Him camping you is allowing the survivors to work on gens. They still need to do some work on emblems and how ranking works. I still find it dumb that you can escape from a game really quickly and depip because the killer is terrible. (by terrible I mean that the survivors finished all 5 gens, escaped, and the killer only hooked 0-3 people). Survivors shouldn't get punished because of the killer's lack of skill.

Killer chaser emblem is already effected by camping. You shouldn't get free points for being caught.

I'm going to agree with this. You shouldn't be rewarded for losing, no matter how annoying it is to get camped. A distraction assumes you actively distracted the Killer from doing something else. Clearly his entire focus is Killing you. You aren't distracting him from anything. His main objective is to kill you, not stop generators.

Here's the thing
Definition of Distraction: "a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else."
Definition of Camping: "remain persistently in one place."
So gaining distraction points while they are camping would work since it fits in the distraction category. And if you don't want the survivor to be "Rewarded" by just one point category then don't camp?
This idea seems logical and maybe @not_Queen or @Peanits could pass it off to the Rest of the Dev Team.
Cause tbh, it's not a bad idea and would stop Camping if you don't want the survivor to be "rewarded" and you to be "Not rewarded"
Also @weirdkid5 that is false. The Killer's objective is to prologue the Trial as long as possible, meaning that The killer can Break gens but his goal is not to let ANY Survivor live. So if the killer camps the entity is going to get angry because technically it wants all the survivors dead not just one. So either way in the lore it would make sense to gain distraction points if the killer camps you for a certain amount of time. Because the entity feeds on hope, and if the Killer camps that depletes hope, so a camped survivor should get distraction points because they will still have hope of gaining Bloodpoints which will feed the entity.
Yes, I read up on the entity's lore and everyone's Theories...
But, my point is, it would make sense to gain distraction points if the killer decides to camp that one hooked survivor.

So would this go for Altruism or Boldness Points? :D

That should go into the Survival category. Its already pretty much impossible to max that out.

Well, Self Care and Decisive Strike then escaping does fill it up a lot. Struggling on hook gives up to 900 I think. :)

Hook Struggling is usually 891 on console.

Im a kil....survivor* main obviously and I think we should not be rewarded for being on the hook, that would go against the purpose of the game and make the game less fun for us....survivors......SURVIVORS RULE!!!!

I mean....being camped sucks.
Solo Kindred Base kit would be a great response to this.
Or something.

Ok but also give killers 4k bonus BP for each survivor that escapes if we're so keen on rewarding failure.
You can call it distraction but in reality you've failed to evade the killer and also was unlucky enough to meet hard camper with bad teammates. It's annoying but not every match is supposed to end to your liking, sometimes you just have to accept bitter loses no matter how unfair you feel they were.
If you want to reward survivors for their failure then it's only fair to reward killers the same way. And saying that killers don't deserve it is tottaly the same for survivor hanging on that hook. He also didn't do anything himself to deserve those distraction BP yet you want to reward him just for not killing himlsef. It's like saying that we should reward each player by bonus BP just becasue they didn't go AFK at the start of the match.

As much as I would like that, I dont think this is the correct way. You should only get points when you are doing something. Being on the Hook and not killing yourself when you get camped is not "doing something".
