Does anyone actually use brown add ons on killers? Like ever.
I am never lacking better ones.

Well, for Myers, most use "Boyfriends Memo" for the "Jumpscare Myers" build...
And I think that's it.

Not really.
1 -
Yeah totally forgot about that one. Probably because I tried it 3 times in total. It is a fun build but kinda op.
2 -
The ghost soot for wraith with the silent bell (coxcombed clapper) that’s about it I think. More for “fun” builds
2 -
I use them for Plague. And Freddy when I have to farm points sometimes.
1 -
Im going to sound like a noob, but what's a grey addon?
2 -
I think they’re actually brown but I’m assuming we’re referring to each killers lowest tier addons
1 -
I think he means the common brown add-ons
1 -
I'm sitting here thinking they're some completely useless addon that's below brown and somehow never appears in the bloodweb
1 -
I use them on Spirit all the time, just because otherwise I feel so slow while phasing. I use the Zori almost very single match. For Clown, I use the reload speed ones (Fingerless Parade Gloves), just because reloading takes too much time otherwise.
Of course they arent particularly amazing, but they help on those matches where you dont have to try hard so much. I have several of them, so might as well use them. Helps a lot when you are dumping all your BP on other characters.
2 -
Those are browns, not greys. And I use them all the time. I HATE going into every match packing purples & pinks. You gotta spend about 50000 BP to get 2-3 of those. It's just not sustainable, but what's more important is that they make things easier. I don't want easy.
2 -
I do for pig, trapper and nurse.

Ghost soot on wraith

I’ll usually use the brown add-ons on no add-ons at all. I use a mixture of brown, yellow, and green add-ons on Spirit. Once I start to get low on my yellow and green add-ons I’ll start to use the Shiawase Amulet and the Zori, I don’t like going without add-ons for Spirit because I feel slow as hell without them. Occasionally I use the fun purple add-ons but that is basically spoon feeding a victory.
With other killers like Hag, Plague, and Huntress I usually go without add-ons.
1 -
Yeah sorry I called them gray for some reason. I will edit. :D

A lot of brown addons are best addons. Huntress exhaustion for example. Every nurse brown, except ######### bookmark, is god tier. Trappers +1 trap is actually all he needs. You don't even need them on most killers, those are - what name suggests - addons.
1 -
I mostly use brown on yellow add-ons on the killers I play and I only rank killers based around base kit and these add-ons. I use stronger add-on rubbish killers though.
1 -
Excuse me?
Play rank 1 with brown addons one time.
Cannibal and Hillbily have cooldown and increase speed addons, they are OKAY, but not good at all.
Myers has the longer lunge in tier 1 which is only good in a tier 1 myers build.
Nurse has an extra blink which cripples her...
Wraith has an addon for exiting stealth, when destroying something, but you can't hit while in transition...
Trapper has an extra trap! Thats okay. Even tho there are addons which grant him 2 extra traps, which are better.
Clown has decreased reload time... which isn't that useful at all.
yeah...
2 -
I typically play without add ons.
2 -
Wraith's "The Serpent" - Soot will actually allow you to immediately hit with the Ghostface patch, just saying.

I always use the Add-ons that i have the most of, which is, surprisingly, usually the Uncommon ones.
This way i save up loads of more rare ones for when i truly do want to use them, but i also make enough BP to buy a bunch more Common & Uncommon ones.
EDIT: Here, an easy way to understand what i mean.
- I use the Add-ons i have the most of
- After playing, i go buy the Add-ons that i want (and some Offerings), going from most wanted to least wanted
- Once the Bloodweb has run out of things i want, i buy the cheapest stuff, no bias towards anything
- The paths leading to Bloodweb Nodes that i want are mostly cluttered with Commons & Uncommons, meaning that by going for ones that i really like means i also supply myself with more to use for this tactic
It's an endless cycle, and the amount of Add-ons i have grows with every match, no rarity excluded from this tactic.
If i ran the absolute best stuff all the time, i wouldn't have so many Very Rares by now.
And while i don't run the best that i could run, Add-ons are not so different from Perk levels.
What i mean is that devs are obsessed lately with making Perk levels matter very little: A Perk WILL always be stronger on max level, but the difference is so little that you may sometimes wonder if it's even worth investing the BP to get it.
So for example: A "Swift Hunt" - Blood may give you 40% faster uncloak speed, a "Swift Hunt" - Mud gives 30%, being only 10% behind the Very Rare one.
It's a difference that i myself am willing to give up to be able to gain more and more of what i want.
When i feel like an absolute tryhard, then i'll run the best of the best.

It's better than running no Add-ons.
I keep switching characters and sometimes use some to level others, so it's not possible for me to sustain higher rarity Add-ons for each trial.

The Huntress one that gives Exhaustion is quite good IMO. Also, for a while, people were using the Combat Straps for Pig; some probably still do.
1 -
I always use brown add ons for trapper (Trapper gloves and Trapper sack) and Pig (combat straps).
0 -
So more people use them than I thought. Interesting. Maybe they are not so worthless then.
0 -
I use them a lot as I kinda hoard add-ons.
And some are genuinely good and/or do something unique. straps on Pig, memo on Myers for spooky Myers, Ghost on Wraith. Huntress has a brown exhaustion add-on which is obviously strong.
Then there's killers where you really don't need crazy add-ons to do fine. Billy with spark plug + vegetable oil is a solid budget combo, and the spoon on Nurse is nice combined with pocket watch iirc. Her brown tooth add-on is moderately increased charge speed as well which is pretty sweet if you want that.

Moldy Electrode (25% increase shock range) is pretty good too. Sure if you have yellow or Green they are better but don't neglect the 25% if you don't want to potentially waste one of the others.

With me, I choose brown addons/base on Spirit for a weird reason. I like to be challenged and if I mess up once, I lose which makes it oddly satisfying to run brown addons/ using her base.
@MegMain98 is the same I think.
Also, after a stressful game, I stomp survivors with OP ones.

As someone who second killer main is Doctor, and I use that Add-On all the time, I'm surprised I forgot that.

@Poweas Some killers just don’t need anything except their brown add-ons and Spirit is one of them. The only time she needs purple add-ons is if it is a good SWF team and the map is huge like Red Forest or Rotten Fields. It’s just too easy to equip purple add-ons and 4K ESPECIALLY using Prayer Beads.
If I happen to lose with Spirit using brown add-ons, it is nice to equip the Saya and Amulet and know that I can always kill everybody if I REALLY wanted to. Sometimes I play a little too nice.
I can also consistently get at least 2-3 kills with Plague using no add-ons. I’m currently at Rank 4. She’s not a hard killer to play, she’s just very vulnerable to being gen rushed as she has very little map pressure. With Corrupt Purge she easily has one of the best snowball effects in the game.

Trapper:
- Trapper Sack
- Trapper Gloves
Wraith:
- "The Ghost" - Soot
Hillbilly:
- Spark Plug
- Vegetable Oil
Huntress:
- Berus Toxin
- Bandaged Haft
Doctor:
- Moldy Electrode
Nightmare:
- Wool Shirt
- Sheep Block
Spirit:
- Origame Crane
- Gifted Bamboo Comb
these are the ones i use sometimes.
obviously there are better ones, but since i dont want to keep spending BP on already maxed out Killers, i usually eigther run no Add Ons or brown Add Ons.

I use them a lot, I'm a hoarder so if I have 5 of something good I start using something worse until I get more of the other add-ons.
0 -
I really hate using add-ons since I like to prestige 3 my mains and get all the perks on them. Going through a bloodweb without getting a perk seems like a huge waste of BP, so I almost always go add-onless or with common/uncommon add-ons.
0 -
If i'm out of tuning guides and or primer bulbs and or grease... I'll use spark plug.

@MegMain98 Plague has never needed addons tbh. She's not reliant. Neither is Legion tbh. They're mid tier killers who need no addons.
0 -
If I plan on playing for awhile I do either 2 yellows or one yellow and a brown
0 -
Only if they are strong (no tr on wraith for 6 seconds after uncloacking maybe) or if i have no other addons
0 -
I do.
Before prestiging I've tried to use every add-on I have on my Killer and brown add-ons are usually my go to if I face a SWF.
0 -
I use the yellow Hindered addon and the brown Exhaustion Addon on Huntress and it's a good combo
0 -
I usually don't play with addons except on legion.
For brown addons, i used to play mostly with them on doctor.
0 -
I use Boyfriend's Memo for Myers and the speed add ons for Pig so I swing and crouch faster.
