The obsession perks have no downside how you fix them ?

Just give the killer a 5% movement buff when chasing the obsession.

OoO doesn't work in a certain range, so it can't be used against looping
In any case, i see what you mean. Survivor obsession perks have no downfall, while the killers do. Dying light gives the obsession better speed, Play with your food you lose tokens just for swinging, Save the Best for Last you lose tokens hitting your obsession, remember me the obsession is not effected by it, Rancor the survivor can see your aura every time a gen is done. Either add downfalls to the survivor obsession perks, or remove them from killer perks.

When you have OoO you can run loops varey ez so you don't need the OoO ther. But yes you get the idea.

If you wanna play by the lore go on you can easily. We can do chases with different survivors but at the same time when they unhook we can down again that survivors make sure they will die and give them fear and take away, they hope they have then when the EGC active take the last hope they have.

It's a good thing you don't do balance and game design for this game.
3 -
Why ?
1 -
Actually, i usually do lol. Just because i played poorly doesnt mean ill be salty and camp/tunnel the last survivor (as i really dont care if i get kills anyway.)
0 -
So you don't play killer ok nice to know
1 -
The downside is that the killer could have Rancor, Remember Me or Dying Light and really want you dead.

The downside with Obsession perks is being the obsession. There's so many perks playing around tunneling the obsession. I.E. Rancor, Remember Me, etc. Maybe if you're lucky you'll get a STBFL killer.
2 -
Surprisingly enough, those downsides happen even if the survivor has no obsession perks. In other words, the downside has no relation to the survivor's use of obsession perks.
2 -
I think OoO is the best example to make an Obsession Perk.

Dying Light - If you kill the obsession everyone else does actions 25% slower for the rest of the game, meaning you want rid of the obsession as fast as possible
Remember Me - Hit the obsession and everyone else takes longer to open the gates, but the obsession can still open them at normal speed, which is a good reason to make sure they die before then
Rancor - Once the gates are powered you can instantly kill the obsession, maybe in this case you want to let them go for a while but if you get them at the end nothing can save them
No downside to being the obsession though I suppose...

Those are downside IF the killer uses those perks BUT those perks give to the survivors' buffs too and DL and remember me is just useless perks.
3 -
And don't forget i ask what the downside of the obsession perks that survivors use.
1 -
Not every single perk needs downsides. It can be not strong enough, to situational, counterable etc. DS fits into the 2nd and 3Rd category I mentioned. No need for downsides.
Also, one downside of obsession is rancor tho. Use it if you want to punish obsession survivors.
1 -
Cool, i have no idea that rancor is a perk that every killer have in the base kit, the only perks that don't need a downside are those that are weak perks like DS that can be used 100% in every game need a downside. And yes DS has 100 % use in every game because DS make sure you will not get hook when you bring it to the game.
1 -
erm... I actually play killer very frequently, and the weakest killers at that. Sorry you cant understand that i dont care about winning every game on something that i just want to have fun with.

Make it a double edge sword for 20 seconds you can see the killer but the killer cant see you after 20 seconds are up the ability flips for 20 seconds the killer can see you but you cant see the killer
1 -
They don't need downsides. Killers just need stronger obsession perks.

People like to tunnel the Obsession, the downside is your probably gonna have a crummy game.
That was until it switches survivor. If it never does switch though, well then it'll be crummy.

If you're in a bad enough situation where a survivor can escape by crawling, then there is definitely something wrong. Try going for the unhooker, or maybe force other survivors out, so they can't unhook the hooked survivor. Assuming you're a Hag main by your profile picture, just place traps around the hooked survivor since it jerks the rescuer's camera around.
With the proper precautions, you will never end up in a situation where a survivor can just crawl out because they have DS.

You know when non-obsession survival DS you the effect of dying light is gone?
0 -
Isn't about winning it's about having fun you see as the killer if you play well are pip you will find your self in purples ranks where survivors will run perks like DS, MoM... at the same time they will gen rush. So as the killer, you have to pick some other perks in order to make the game last a little longer. Survivors don't have this problem they can run no perk and still win the game even on red rank but when they put some of those perks you know you can lose the game for one perk. Tell me how fun is to lose the whole game not by a better survivor but from a perk?

The only way this will work if the obsession perks for the killer have no downside as well but the devs will never do something like that just look the new perk the Ghostface bring in the game.

You are at the end of the game you have one kill and you have one survivor on the hook, he gets unhook and the last gen is complete adrenaline kick in and run to the exit you have set a trap as hag or whatever is your power. The survivor gets a speed boost and uses BL,DH you down him again before he gets to the exit but DS kick in and he's out.

Same with remember me

Being the obsession should turn your scratch marks a different color
Other survivors can see when the obsession is in a chase (by looking at the obsession icon bottom left), which makes killer obsession perks worse; survivors might not be running any obsession perks but if you are then you are giving them an advantage
A different color for scratch marks is a minor bonus that would even out the advantage survivors get from the perks

I think that a "fix" would be to give debuffs to the "obsession"-effect, regardless of perks used.
For example, additionally to being the special target /condition of obsession-perks, the obsesseion-survivor could also suffer from harder skill checks, debuffed action speeds or whatever other hindering effects might be undesirable.
Currently being the obsession is only a negative IF the killer uses certain obsession perks, some even give reasons to not kill or even ignore the obsession entirely.

Yes it can be infuriating to lose to a survivor with mettle, but that’s literally the only obsession perk that deserves a rework. Everything else is fine as is. Also, killers have perks and abilities that are very annoying as survivor (like Spirit, prayer beads, noed, irihead hatchets, insta saw billy, omega blink nurse, MYC hag with mint rag, etc. etc.) Those (other than iri head and nurse) dont take skill to use at all, and its very easy to 4k with stuff like that. And tbh, i dont really see your argument because it just sounds like you want easy 4ks every game you play.

You already have downsides with ds.
What if the killer dont tunnel you? 3 slot for the entire game.
0 -
DS is one time use and time limited. You'll be slugged. Or you may never use it and waste a perk slot entirely.
MoM is already getting nerfed. Also one time use.
OoO the killer can see you, and tunnel you.
"No downside"
Stop trying to get things nerfed that don't need to be nerfed.

Spirit: just bait the loop and go to the next area
Add-ons: killers can't bring them in every game and you can still play around them and make them useless.
NOED: break the totems in the game or at the end of it.
Most of those things yes don't really take any skill to use it but if we go by the same logic then all most every survivor perks take no skill to use it and as survivors, you have the least amount of skill in the game you only need to learn 3 main loops and that it. The reason i bring this problem is not the 4k but the fun the killers have. Think it that way you feel really bad when you lose to a killer that has NOED but you can make sure this perk will not be activated. As a killer, you can lose the game from a perk that you have no power over it and you can't do anything to stop it.

So what when you pick DS you pick it in case the killer camp or to use it at the end.
0 -
What perks do you think they need nerf and why?
0 -
Yeah, can't say I agree. The downside to DS is that it's somewhat difficult to activate (it's reliant on the killer) and it's also a one time use as @Paladin_Goo said.
0 -
Sorry to ask, but are you stupid? How is DS getting used 100% of the time? I can count on both sides how often I got stunned with DS since its rework and I played around 100 hours since now. If anything, the only situation survivors used DS was MY stupideness of tunneling and picking the guy up immediately.
0 -
What's the downside for Ghostface's obsession perk? How is it harming him in any way?
0 -
The moment you are out of the hook you DS is active and you can use ther is not one case that you will get unhook and the perks will not work.
0 -
If the obsession die you lose it
0 -
Oh. I guess that does make it weaker. I think they should change that to something more controllable.
0 -
The perk can be useless if the obsession DC and beside the perk is not even good.
0 -
What if only work one time? This perk can cut all the moment you have in the game just for playing the game. The second problem is it one perk with a one-time use that can have it all survivors.
