Dear lord my totems spawns lately!

I get that they are risk reward. But holy crap! I've had like three out of three totems spawn next to gens. So many games in a row. Like this was just the worse ever to load in thirty seconds later just being down three perks before a chase could even START! There has to be a better way to handle totems

Either better spawns or let killers fix them or hex a dull totems once their active one was broken. But this is getting old.

Would be nice if Killers had the ability to hide the totems themselves before the match started. Would be kinda reminiscent of adding furniture in The Sims. Give the killer maybe up to 30 seconds to choose totem spawns. Its really painful though when you spawn in and see that the bright burning ruin is 5 ft away from a Gen and within LOS of it. Other games, you load in and see its in an area that the survivors have no reason to go anywhere near...you just KNOW that totem is staying around.

Those 30 seconds can't be taken from the lobby time, cause that would be unfair.

They can't be done during the loading screen either, that might mess things up.

The Offering screen is too short.

So the only option then is to pause the actual match right as it starts to then let the Killer decide where to spawn them.

Thing is, it will be paused for Survivors as well.

It's a clear sign that you're running a Hex Perk.

You might have hidden it well, but you're also completely ruining the surprise factor that Hex Perks CAN bring, which is something i'd like to keep.

You'd be better off with @Poweas suggestion, where you can edit placements on every map without needing to actually play a match, then those placements are saved for your matches.

Well, he talked about Bear Traps, but the idea can be the same for both.

The problem with that is you would have to also place it for ever tile set spin about rotation of each map. I think it would be better if it works almost as an inventory thing. You as the killer get five totems and you can set them down much like you would a bear trap

@Boss while that honestly wouldnt be a bad idea if it wasnt for the sake of how alot of the map is procedural generated. My idea wouldve given the 30 seconds at the beginning of every match, no matter which perks are used. If you dont need 30 seconds, you could just push a ready button to end this time early.

also, please note that quoting my statements isnt a good way to let me know that youve said anything to me since I dont get a notice of it unless you @ me

Sorry, i've been here since day 1 and you didn't have to @ to get people's attention back then.

@LordGlint An additional 30 seconds overall? I don't think we need that.

My personal preference was that they just make better spots. Y'know, re-visit older maps.

Of course, that's not happening cause that doesn't reel in money.

It's been 2 years now and i'm not waiting any longer, i'd absolutely take your idea over more waiting on the devs.

They should occasionally put Totems in the basement. That would be a right laugh yeah 😉
