Dream Snare or Dream Pallets - What would you choose ?
Hey, beautiful ppl!
In the 3 Year Anniversary Stream the DEV's talked about two abilitys that could actually make Freddy a good killer (even a top killer if they implement the gen Teleport correctly). I would definitely prefer Dream Snare over Dream Pallets. It sounds pretty great tbh and in combination with the teleport Freddy would be able to put pressure on survivors and finish chases pretty fast (compared to normal M1 killers).
Dream snare: You can set traps and if a survivor runs over this trap, he will suffer a speed penalty.
Dream Pallet: You can place fake pallets
Yes, we have no numbers now.. but we can still discuss, right ?

Snare definitely. Dream pallets can still technically be looped, and unlike Doctors, the survivors don't see it's fake until they drop it, which makes them confident.
And that confidence means they'll loop you as normal, unlike against Doctor where they try to find another pallet. Even if they drop it eventually, at a jungle gym that's about 40 seconds wasted from a bad mental strategy. Doctor at least scares them into abandoning the jungle gym.
So yeah, a mental game makes dream pallets weak lol. Sounds funny right?

Dream pallets.
I would assume the dream snares would be visible and therefore easily avoidable. Whereas a dream pallet may cause a survivor to stay at a loop they normally wouldn't because they think they are safe.

The Pallet one.
They're basically traps that are already set up everywhere.
Both sound okay at the very least though.
Heck, anything above a stupid 7-second delay.

Snare, I'm assuming most experienced players wont fall for the dream pallets but we'll see. Plus with snare, it'd help out a lot more in a chase

Not sure, I kind of rather him get something unique instead of stepping on Hag or Trapper's shoes with the snare or Doc's with the pallet.

pallets b/c snares will make me wait a few seconds before i inevitably get stabbed, whereas dream pallets the stab will happen much faster. so i spend less time in a state of no escape and thus feel less frustrated/ tilted.

If I recall correctly, a developer here recently stated that both are in his basekit. (at least for now)
Regardless, if I had to make a choice, I would pick DP. Snares are supposedly visible pools of blood that will slow you down and take a few seconds to arm after being put down. This puts a lot more pressure on you during the Chase to get both the positioning and timing just right.
A DP basically gurantees the hit on a loop, because the Survivor will have to choose between leaving a really good loop because they're not sure if the pallet is real or staying without any actual protection and waste time dropping a dummy. And as far as we know, you can just place them without any time lag.
I think both are very good, though.

I'd probably still chose the snares since they are something kinda new.
To me fake pallets sound a bit fishy since doc already has those and they aren't all that great. Not bad but not strong either. Also they would be countered by survivor with good memory and by swf (but what isn't right). They would just do small run around map to look for spots where pallets are and then run there each chase hoping that are some left.

Snare since you can place them down in mid-chase with no slowdown and it slows survivors down once they trigger it. It would be great to place them at a jungle gym. It just depends on how MANY you can have on the ground at once and how big the slowdown effect actually is. They might sound great but it might be 1 at a time and like the Clowns' gas, which would make them useless.
