Please remove new "Added stun VFX for Killers when hit by pallets."
This red VFX wasn't ever necessary or asked for.
Is there an option to turn it of?
For some reason this red VFX hurts my eyes, causes headache and nausea.
We gave you that feedback during PTB.
Why is it live now?
What devs implements a feature, never asked for that can make their players sick?
#########?
Right now I am unable to play DBD without feeling sick because of this VFX.
If for some reason this is a must have in your games, the core feature we cannot live without, please give me at least the option to turn it off.

It's really dumb. Trust me I'm already aware when I get hit by a pallet, I don't need the red border to rub it in.
17 -
Its giving me headaches. I'd love it removed.
As for why they introduced, I guess its to show to new players that getting stunned is bad. Problem is that if they teach new players that stuns are bad, they'll respecting pallets and such for longer thus being easier to loop and humiliate.

I cannot by the life of me come up for a reason for a company to use resources and create such an VFX that isn't necessary, wanted and can cause physical discomfort to nausea to the players.
I know, that I am not the only one who suffers from that red flash.
It don't add any depth are exciting new features to the game and yes devs, we know when we get hit with a pallet over our head.
No wonder everything at DBD takes so long for them to fix, if they get sidetracked by such stuff. (Unless it is nerfing a not even a week old killer...)

I suffer from it too, nausea after a killer match.
Unnecessary and actually hurtful
@not_Queen any news on when this is going to be removed?
2 -
BTW just out of curiosity:
At the pitch meeting for the new VFX for getting stunned by a pallet where was the guy who asked, should we add the same VFX for the survivors to? Like when they are getting hit?
0 -
But how will we understand that we was hit by a pallet!!!
Sorry yeah having fun with that too much today. Perhaps because of up coming map changes and the pallets becoming less safe they have explained the vaule loops ect about making more shorter loops and map changes are coming with Freddie.
The combo of enduring spirt fury will be to stong for shorter loops and it will "unfair" so to balance we will add the effect now to help with new map changes to come. Also we need surviour to have a good advantage after a pallet stun and with enduring change we need to make sure your distracted by the horrible effect to focus on where the the surviour has run to.
Im guessing maybe possible reasoning just a guess 🐷

But this effect hurts players ruining the experience, there's no excuse for this add
0 -
Lol, right?
Camera shaking and being stopped in your tracks isn't enough for the Killer to recognize they are stunned.
So naturally, Survivors need this effect too when they get hit, cause getting a sprint burst & losing pools of blood isn't obvious enough.
In case anyone reading this couldn't tell: Sarcasm.

I really don't understand. Nobody asked for this. They implemented it, People complained and nobody liked it. so instead of removing it, they lessened it's intensity?
5 -
This is actually really harmful for people with motion sensitivity, all you can do now is avoid pallets and respect the hell out of them.
2 -
Its a cool addition.
I think you're complaining for the sake of it

I just hope you are trolling or sarcastic.
This VFX cause real discomfort and sickness within me and others. I really want to turn it off.

I was joking its horrible it hurts my brain and is very crazy the reason behind it so we understand we was hit by a pallet lol it makes me laugh thats the reason to put people through this horrible experience. But i honestly think its done to blur killers vision for new map changes to give escapes to surviours after a stun due to pallet loops will be changing.. Maybe a blur or a fatigue stun like legions might be kinda to get this result anything is better than red flash of sadness.
Still people will say its un needed but with map changes could be to balance?
🐷

If that's the reason, the execution is poor and must be changed.
And I think you are correct, it's the usual survivor hand holding idea...
0 -
I agree, it serves no purpose but to be anoying

What is the reason for the including the red flash, despise our feedback that it causes great discomfort, headache and nausea?
Do you actively like to hurt us?

Hello everyone,
We have discussed this at our morning live sync and we have given your concerns/feedback to the team and that the comments were mostly negative. We do not know what was discussed afterwards. We will keep you posted when we have more information.

Thank you :*

I am pretty sure this was added for "Immersion"

It’s annoying and needs to go. The Killer groaning and the camera shaking should be enough to indicate that you got stunned.

Thank you

Thank goodness, I'm also not a fan of this change either. I believe the flashlight VFX changes were a positive step, and that the red flash was a negative one.

Thank you Patricia for your open answer.
We really appreciate your work and we definitely need more such sort of confirmation.
Without you telling us such details, we only can assume you don't relay our concerns and inputs.
We really like the game you have created her and it hurts if such minor things like (in our eyes unnecessary) VFX feature is causing us such dizziness, that some of us are unable to further enjoy your product.
I feel sorry for the devs who were in charge to design, program, implement and test it, only to get rejected.
I can only speak for myself, but such an open feedback, like you did right now, helps me to get insight into your process. And with insight come understanding and less rage.
I am looking forward to a more transparent, frequent and open exchange of occurrences and ideas.
Wish you the best.

Great news everyone!
We are going to remove completely the weird stun VFX <3
share the information because I think a lot of people are going to be happy.
Have a great day/evening ^^

You are a true legend!!!

OMG thank u :* <3

Fantastic. Wonderful job

I don't find the vfx that irritating. It was on the ptb but it was turned down for live. If it hurts other people it's fine if it gets removed since it doesn't bring anything to the table in terms of gameplay.

Thank you!

Is this coming with the next hotfix?

Yes! Thank you guys so much!

Thank you very much!

Best news ever!

Thank you Patricia and the devs, the VFX can really give us Killer main headaches, i play DBD like 5+ hours per day, nowadays like 12 hours per day, treating it like a job
So its really good to hear its going away, in the long term it will really damage my eyes if it stays
0 -
Great, thank you.

I think at the very least there should be the option to turn it off, especially if people are complaining about headaches/nausea from it
EDIT: I wrote this before I saw it was gonna be removed
0 -
I didn't even notice it. But if people hate it so much I'm glad they're removing it.
0 -
It was not hate, some of us just getting nauseous from the effect, some even with worse effects and because the VFX is not necessary our kind Patricia managed to convince the devs on our behalf to remove it.

THIS IS TOTALY NOT ANNOYING OMG #########
YOU GUYS...
YOU'R NOT DOING ANYTHING DURING THE STUN BECAUSE YOU CANT MOVE AND DO SH*T, HOW IT IS ANNOYING ????????
E X P L A I N
0 -
. . . What are you even talking about? No one's complaining about not being able to move or do anything while stunned, the thread is about the red flash that happens when a killer is stunned. Did you decide that you just wanted to hop on a thread and complain for the sake of complaining?
1 -
I don't mind the VFX, but I also don't want people too be hurt by it in real life. so i say good riddance.
