You Really Need To Increase The Trap Radius

Literally ran right past it. Really? The traps themselves already suck really bad but you can't even trap the stairs? Really? Come on, Man. There should be no reason that they can just squeeze by. They are already super bright and easy to spot. They should also be slightly darkened by default but lets worry about that later. @Peanits This is why Trapper doesn't get played past Rank 10. (edit) I couldn't walk past my own trap XD

don't tell anyone this but you can make up for the traps small radius by abusing a trapper bug where you can put the trap into the floor where the stairs meets a flat surface, just need to move around a bit on the stairs and aim the trap and you will see what I mean, works well with basement games

@SteelDragon The radius use to be bigger but it got nerfed awhile back. They need to rebuff it or Trapper will never get any play past Rank 10.

Rather than just a giant radius, they need some form of detection. Traps are VERY often placed in narrow choke points like that. If there is a wall on either side within a short range, anyone passing that line should just be trapped, regardless of if it's a micrometer to the left or right.

He's a really mediocre killer already with far too many built in counters to his power, he should AT LEAST be threatening in the one situation he's meant to be, not a joke as you literally walk past his power.

Although, this would benefit the trapper in many cases it would be abused. There are several times you can't deactivate certain trap spots. That being one of them if you can't get past it at times.

@Jdsgames The whole point is to trap people and cut off areas like this. A bigger radius would mean you could deactivate it farther away. If I can get caught in my own trap, you should be able to. Simple as that. You want to keep facing Nurse, Spirit and Billy? This is how.

@anarchy753 I agree. Everyone hates facing the same trio of power but no one wants to buff the weaker killers with simple things. It's like, "I hate Nurse!!" Some other guy: Make the Pig not rawr before she dashes. Survivors: "Hell no!" Like what?

That would cut off an entire gen without being able to get past. I am simply saying if you extended the range on the trap above it would elimintate an entire objective which is not fair either. I agree in cases like pallets/loops yes these bugged sides are a problem. But I can also be unbiased and say at the top of stairs if you could not bypass them would break many maps. Haddonfield has generally two or three gens sometimes at the tops of houses. You would force someone self-suiciding to get past.

If the traps were to be larger so should the disarm. That way stairs are not completely denied.

@Jdsgames There are windows in every house on Haddonfield. If you didn't jump when I got to the top and put a trap down on the top of the stairs AND in front of both windows.. that's on you. You can easily disarm traps. It takes a whole 3 seconds to render his power useless until he comes back, picks it up and arms it (2 seconds) again. They changed it awhile back because it kept clipping into the ground but they never fixed the hitbox since. It use to be okay but now its worthless. If you think disarming a trap is a big deal then I don't know what else to tell you. I'm guessing a 4 second 1-shot chainsaw in a small corridor is better?

Not to mention one of the most used items in the game can destroy his power for half a match at a time, because that ancient mechanic is a valuable thing that shouldn't be removed to make a mediocre killer slightly less bad.

@anarchy753 I agree but all he really needs are 3 things to make him better.

    1. Darker traps
    2. Carry 3-5 by default
    3. the sides of the trap needs to be slightly extended so you can't just walk past them like that. The hitbox should extend to the tips of the trap itself. To where the bends are.

If you place the traps a certain way at the tops of stairs not only are they underneath the top but you can't disarm them if they are not peeking over. What I have been saying is that it would be exploited. Nothing more. You seem to be jumping to conclusions. There is a difference between survivor detecting there is a trap to disarm and hitbox to snap on you. However, those corners of traps will also trigger the trap. What is happening is the hitbox of the survivor is small enough to fit on the sides. However, as I said you should not be able to permanently trap off an area and simply say 'oh they should have stayed' All traps no matter where should be disarmable simple as that. Do I believe he should have traps pre-spawn open yes, do I believe they should be easier to carry and use yes. I am simply saying to avoid exploiting it the traps shouldn't be increased in size.

@Jdsgames When you get close enough to a trap, whether its above your waist or below your feet, you can ALWAYS disarm it. Same if a trap is placed on a hill and you are below it. If you get close enough to trigger it, it'll ALWAYS give you the option to disarm it. You can always disable it at the top of the stairs. I have no clue what you are talking about saying you can't disarm it if you are underneath it. I can place it on the stairs by turning sideways and survivors can still disarm it. I'm talking about making it so you can't just walk past it without disarming it first.

    Yep, thats needed.

Also: survivors need to snap to traps, not like it currently is. Traps get moved around a lot when survivors get out of it (grabbed or escaped) rendering his rearm-UR quite useless. Not to mention traps getting stuck in walls ( dont know if that still happens though)

Delete trapper simple. He is completely out of date.

Trapper in general needs an update, the Add-on pass wasn't sufficient in the slightest. His concept stems from the time when the average game took 12-15 minutes and he had the time to collect traps and strategically set them down. Those times are long past, yet he's stuck in it still.

Trapper needs improvements of all kinds. He is a killer for low ranks and that's it. You have to play extremely well to win with him at higher ranks, or even mid ranks. He is yet another Killer that relies on the survivor making a mistake instead of him being a genuine power role.

Bugs and exploits aside, he is a first generation killer and it really shows.

i mean that was just a stupid trap you just put , you could just trap the other side and go for the other and forced him to go for the other way lmao trapper is a good killer if you know how to play him , maybe he needs some buffs (2 traps base kit) Trapper main

@Kaiju Or they could put the trap to where it was like before they nerfed it to fix an old bug where it would sink into the ground on the corn maps. There are many places where it won't do jack. If you think just letting him carry 2 traps will do anything for him, you haven't played at Purple or Red ranks with him.

@Kaiju Yeah. No. He needs it buffed. Who loves getting to play against the top 3 killers? EVERYONE DOES? Nevermind. Lets not do anything to the other killers for buffs because I was wrong. People love Nurse, Spirit and Billy at high ranks.

@AStupidMonkeyy or maybe someone needs to git gud no offense but trapper is in a good place at least for me , if you just don't like him there are plenty of killer to use and yeah i admit it some killers needs some love but trapper atm is doing fine imp

@Kaiju I have nothing else to say to you. The fact that you think the worse killer in the game is one of the best is appalling.
