Is wake up bannable?
I recently hear there was a glitch with wake up where it makes you do actions faster and wanted to know if i would get banned for using it because wake up is one of the perks i normally use and i wanted to try and get the adept. Also when is it going to be fix and how did this bug even happened since wake up was never touched in the updated

Sadly, It's still exploiting even if you're trying not to. Personally I think the devs should fix their game instead of punishing survivors for using a perk that's in game.

you know guys... you could just disable the perk while working on a fix. but yeah let's ban ppl for playing your game and perks... sigh

Supposedly. I've heard they have a way of knowing who uses it as well
Edit: Typo

i normally use wake up because when im at the exit without wake i get to around 90% and then the killer comes i find wake really helpful

You know that this perk is bugged. If you still use it, then you are bug abusing/exploiting. Exploiting is against the rules and you can get banned for it.
Seriously, why do you think it would under any circumstances be okay to exploit?

im not trying to exploit i love using wake up and used it a lot before the bug, it has saved me a lot of times. The devs are in some ways very toxic instead of removing a perk untill it is fixed they just hand out bans instead

Everyone knows the perk is bugged, the devs can see whos running the perk. The perk was hardly ever used before the bug and now it's quite common. I think 1 or 2 games they should give you the benefit of the doubt but after that your intentionally running an exploit.
If we're judging by past actions yes I'd assume and would hope it'd be bannable since not too long ago killers were being banned for an add on combo which was also an exploit.

Of course they’ll ban you for exploiting their incompetence

What if you dont know the perk is bugged forexample my friend he his legions 2 addons that made the 5min mend bug but he didnt know he was exploting becuase he never got the in game warning (nor did i) and he does read about dbd. Luckly he didnt get banned.

By definition if you aren't running the perk for the bug then it isn't exploiting.
You can't accidentally exploit the game

If you do a bug 1 or 2 times ur ok but when you use it alot you wont be.

Not until we're told it is; same with furtive chase and PWYF.

Hopefully it will be.
Survivors shouldn't get a pass when killers exploiting add-ons are prone to punishment.

Truth, I think this bothers me more than the actual bug.
Legion players got hit for using certain exploits to the point it was announced it big flashy red letters at the top of the forum.
But concerning wake up? Silence.....
That's really starting to bother me.

@FrenziedRoach Eh, its a double standard thing. Imagine the outcry if survivors risked getting banned for exploiting something. It'd affect a lot of players. The forums would be filled with "why i got ban" threads and such, plus a review bombing.

Ain't it weird how everyone thought Wake Up was a ######### perk back when it was released? And now that it is bugged everyone suddenly wants to using it like it's a great perk now?
Yikes.

It's interesting everyone and their mother claims to use it prior to the patch when it's regularly deemed as ######### tier when discussed on the forum.

@Visionmaker some people started using it for the EGC if the Hatch is closed.
The perk may be weak but it serves a purpose.

I'd like for the data to attest to that.

Same thing happened with Legion add ons. When they were bugged they banned players instead of disabling the add ons.

Clown players didn't get repercussions for using Pinky finger when they only needed to be intoxicated to become exposed for over a month and PWYF is also bugged to be way stronger than it should be, in a similar vain to Wake Up!; let's not make this about developer bias when it's clearly not.
Also the issue with legion was also clearly much worse as it literally removed the ability for a survivor to play the game completely; they were stuck holding M1 for literal minutes and if they let go even briefly would be downed with a location ping for the killer, even if they were technically going into 'chase' sequence in that moment. It was game breaking and becoming increasingly common.

The only ones getting repercussions are legion players. Devs have shown to be legion-biased.

Players who exploited a bug that made it literally impossible to play the game =/= legion players. Legion, Spirit, Hag are my go-to killers and I certainly didn't feel attacked when that message popped up in-game.
There was a sudden influx of people playing Legion with those add-ons, miraculously. And we all know why.

Everyone else exploiting things for quicker games like legion's bugs are alright then? Some people run it because they don't know and it's a part of their standard build. Easy fix? How about turning the add-ons off or taking them out instead of banning your players. Not all of those bans were entirely justified.

Obviously they should have turned the add-ons off temporarily; I really don't get why they didn't.
I didn't say it was ok, I'm just saying I can see why they'd prioritise banning for making the game LITERALLY ######### UNPLAYABLE over a bug which helps more than it should.
Remember, they didn't ban for pinky finger which helped killer a ton and they haven't banned for PWYF yet - if they ban for that, they will ban for Wake Up! as both provide a crap ton of free power, I'm not denying that.

Oh please, what a load.
You're either totally new or have a very selective memory.
There have been a number of exploits in this game's history and MOST of them didn't get a proper comment from the devs. But they absolutely have warned and punished survivors in the past the exact same way they punished killers over the Legion exploit. Of the three times the devs have announced they'll be handing out bans for certain things, only the Legion exploit was killer-related.

Tbh me too. I only have anecdotes.
