Skip a Chapter, Fix The Game
This game has some major balance issues and some fundamental flaws in addition to a series and host of bugs most notably audio issues, especially those that existed before the current klusterfuk of audio issues.
I don't want a new skin for Jane. I want the game to look like a game in a released State and not something in late Alpha early beta.
I know that you are all about the money, and they're many idiots that play this game that will give you money no matter how broken the game is just so that they can have bunny ears or a killer that tea bags.
So I suppose it really comes down to a matter of self respect. In my line of work we cannot put out Half Baked products and lay our heads on our pillows at night comfortable we have done a good job; I am not sure how you can.
Fix the damn game.

"I don't want a new skin for Jane"
Because the art department is absolutely responsible for sound issues and balance. XD
Yes, downvote away because I have a different viewpoint and you have no clue how development works.

Won't happen they already promised to keep up dlcs every 3 months with mid chapters.
Its going to be the same cycle but with more lore and cosmetics once we start getting archives/rifts.
No point in asking for a schedule change after they did a big show announcing the schedule they want to do instead.
I betcha the rift/battle pass will be very successful despite bugs.

Have you ever heard of a concept called allocation of resources?
3 -
@MystiKasT You're assuming you know what's going on BtS by saying its an allocation of resources issue.
For all we know they've maxed out potential team sizes in every department and have an optimal overall team and more resources into programming couldn't help.
3 -
Yes, but you apparently haven't any clue how many different disciplines it takes to make a game.
You also have no concept that having a reputation for laying off people is bad PR as well.
2 -
How haven't I any clue how many different disciplines it takes to make a game? @FrenziedRoach

I was taking your post seriously and then I read "putting more resources into programming couldn't help".
@Bbbrian2013 please explain how having more programmers to fix the issues in the game couldn't help?

Because you made an ignorant remark about not wanting skins, but wanting balance. You can have both. Just because artists are working on skins doesn't mean they don't have people working on balance, it's two different departments, two different disciplines. And even the artists have several sub-departments of their own.
If anything, they should continue to work on skins, because extra revenue means more people in departments that need it.
I'm just so sick of this "stop making skins and fix the game" remarks that have no basis in reality.
5 -
@MystiKasT Because throwing more people at something like this doesn't mean it'll get done faster...
They're not building a house.
If the optimal progress can be done with 10 people why hire 20?
1 -
Its basics of economy, supply and demand.
DbD is only game in its genre so there is demand and they can decide how much they supply as people will buy anyway.
0 -
The reason people keep saying stop making skins and fix the game is because they continue to make skins while not fixing the game
2 -
@MystiKasT Except they are fixing the game. Every patch has a huge list of bug fixes.
More things break though because every update adds new content.
They then have to fix the new content.
Its the nature of game development
6 -
Every patch has a minor to moderate list of bug fixes that fix what they had just previously broken and create new issues.
This is largely due to the incompetence of the Dead by daylight development team not due to the natural cycle of game development. It's no secret the dbd devs are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Sorry, but that is wrong.
I don't know the name, but it exists also a similar game, but the drawback on this game I thinking is, that it is epic games exclusiv.
And I don't have, or plan to get a epic games account. I have seen it just a few times by a YouTube lets play canal.
Also, their is a nice game on steam with the name "contagion". I have it not play in the last 1-2 years, but far as I remember, it has been ok and was a "Zombie against Survivors game", instead a "killer against survivors game".
But people who like to try now out Contagion - be warned: That is a real horror game. If you stay there to long on one point, you will be a Zombie soon. So no time for bulling the Killer, rhm Zombie King there. Because he is a real killer^^.

I do not expect them to quit their jobs, I expect several of them to be laid off and those resources to be put where they are more greatly needed.
This isn't a charity and the game needs a lot of improvement.
1 -
And I will continue to call out such ignorant statements for the nonsense they are, no matter how many down-votes I get.
It's not like they aren't balancing. FFS, every other month is a mid-chapter patch dedicated to fixing issues.
Now, if you want to suggest they schedule a chapter for just game fixes, I can get behind that. Kinda like their own version of "Operation Health" that R6 Siege did years ago.
But for FFS, the skins are their income - we want them to have income so they can keep the coders in a job.
6 -
Oh right the Skins are their income so that's why it's okay to have skins over a stable game.
I always forget this game and all of its DLCs are free to play. @FrenziedRoach

@MystiKasT 60+ bug fixes in 3.0.0 but ok. Such a Moderate number.
1 -
Wow, you really want to die on this hill, don't you?
Are you seriously suggesting they send artists to the unemployment line so resources go elsewhere?
FFS, they are balacing the game, I've seen a huge difference over the past 3 years I've been playing.
4 -
You can look up for Path of Exile, they are leading game in ARPG genre with no current competition, yet they keep giving their best every update. Why is that they give their best?
TL:DW Gamers made game for gamers. Unlike in DbD where game is made for profit.
4 -
It is very, very, very clear the DBD devs are not gamers.
0 -
So what you're saying is you want the artists, who likely have little experience with game design and balance, to assist in balance? Or do you want them to temporarily quit, since it's possible to have more than one team of individuals doing more than one thing?
3 -
@Masantonio I want some of the resources currently allocated to cosmetics to be instead allocated to stability/bugfixes/balance. If their budget is that tight, then yes, those artists will be out of work til the the game is in a decent state.
Those artists aren't gods, they don't get 100% job security. Like any company, you have to shift resources to where they are needed most.
0 -
Whoever fixes bugs do fix a lot of issues with bugs, but at that point you can argue that the Quality Department which test the game for upcoming dlc is slacking since both orginal Ghost Face was terrible and the update was littered with bugs. They need to do periodically do more updates for bugs.
0 -
Yah, ######### those artists and their livelihood. Your hobby is more important!
Get over yourself.
5 -
Oh please. We all are at the mercy of market conditions, they are no different. Get real. @FrenziedRoach
1 -
If you are unhappy with the game then leave. They have different departments, you should be harping on the "game designer" people you see in streams that talked about legion rework for example, the art team literally went to a uni and graduated in art, not game design. Its like a restaurant, you got the hosts, servers, and the cooks. Throwing a hissy fit isnt going to make the devs change anything.
3 -
oooooo my god i wish i was as bigbrained as op
3 -
We 100% know that obviously isn't the case.
2 -
@MystiKasT Market conditions say people buy skins like hotcakes so buy more artists bhvr :)
3 -
Ding ding ding! Give this man a cookie! He gets it!
6 -
SKIP A CHAPTER, FIX THE GAME, NERF THE NURSE AND SPIRRT. SURVIVORS ARE PISSED
0 -
Why do some people think it is as easy as going on a walk and telling someone “hey you, help us develop our game. I’m just gonna hope you know coding.”
There is a process to hiring people.
0 -
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about, not everyone in BHVR is an artist, it's like the end credits of a movie, they announce different departments, cause they do different things.
0 -
And the OP just got sniped by the ban hammer.
2 -
Yeah fix the game. Also please tell us just one time how big the hotboxes really are, as this game ages it just gets worse and worse
0 -
They actually showed us the collision capsules in one of the videos about a year and a half ago, give or take.
And no, it's been getting better. I suspect you didn't play in the dark times that was The Last Breath, Halloween, and Of Flesh and Mud chapters.
