Swing range.
How come almost 75% of the time i get down to dying state is because i fast vaulted over a window yet when i am on the other side of the window the killer can still manage to hit me? Whats the point of even going thru it or over a pallet? You dont have like any other way to create space between you or the killer when exhausted....pls explain why they hit you rather then the wall right in front of them.

You are in a Peer to Peer networked game where the host is the killer. Because of how such an architecture works, the killer's game-state is always a step or two ahead of yours. On his end, the hit was legit, you just got the update after the fact.
You can only smoke and mirrors the flaws of internet multiplayer so much before it breaks down at some point, and this is one of them.

Man that sucks asshole....they should really make servers or something!

It's also possible the actual hit detection frame is done just before the killer's forward momentum is stopped by the window sill which further creates the illusion on top of the latency. Unfortunately, that's just a guess on my part based on what little the devs have told us the how the hit detection works.

You must always consider carefully when it's the appropriate moment to vault. As you noticed windows don't make you unhittable, so you should avoid vaults when at less than 2 meters from the killer (which is the lunge range) because otherwise he will hit you. You can tell if you're in attack range when you see the red stain while looking ahead. In those cases it might be better to make a fake, and if it doesn't work use the sprint the hit gives you to reach another place.

But it's a different story when your vault action is finished and the hit still goes through.

if its big enough for someone to jump through, its big enough to put a hammer through.... i'm already pissed that we stop moving after we swing.... i mean REALLY. like we can't walk and chew bubblegum.... ridiculous....This is a video game. Real life mechanics don't apply.

Survivor hit box is oblong shaped (rectangle cubed with round edges). As a survivor vaults a window this shape will turn onto its side slightly giving an area of where the killer can hit and land a successful attack. The Devs did a live stream about this a while ago. They also shown the previous version of the hitboxes. Trust me, it used to be worse!

You also have to realize if you are close enough to a window the killer can still reach through and touch your butt. I've hit people looping close to the fence in the Myers level.1

please fix killer thx

i beg to differ vaults/pallets are not 'the only way to create space between you and the killer'.... in most cases there is a gigantic terror radius and big neon red glow that precedes us long before our arrival.... not to mention our shamefully small FOV.... unless you're actively trying to make noise, anyone can urbanly evade across half the map in the time it takes to check two lockers.... seems to me that an average survivor with good situational awareness can evade most of the game.... one chase can last long enough to finish 3 gens.... its a window. its not a magic force field....

@deadwolfwalking Have you even played survivor? You seem like a killer main so play wraith and get a bigger FOV easy with his perk...lockers are a waste of your time unless you know FOR SURE someone is inside or you're huntress...When a leatherface can one shot you thru a window there needs to be somethjing done here...

@FrenziedRoach This seems to be the best answer because its the killer hosting the match anything over 150 ping seems to be an odd match.

@deadwolfwalking So stop using my post to just complain and argue then. Its here for me to understand why killers can hit you even thru the other side when you're fast-vaulted over a vault/pallet. And people answered! (unlike you ) **END OF STORY PLEASE **

i already answered you BECAUSE IT IS A ******* WINDOW. NOT A ******* FORCE FIELD.... they can't hit you across a pallet. their arms aren't long enough. and they can't chase you very well through a window. but they can hit hit you through a large hole if you're standing close enough and that makes perfect sense. they can hit you on the other side of short fences also (should you be close enough).

@White_Owl Thank you for your kind and very explaining post, really helps.

@deadwolfwalking you never answered my question to begin with you just put a rude post saying some dumb ######### trying to start an argument!!!! People already answered my question so STOP
" if its big enough for someone to jump through, its big enough to put a hammer through.... i'm already pissed that we stop moving after we swing.... i mean REALLY. like we can't walk and chew bubblegum.... ridiculous...."
Im not making this post for killers to complain about things that are very silly. And for someone to start a hissy fit for me asking them to stop.
PLease stop >< ><

@Brady Thats why i made this post is because i see alot of the times the killer still hits you once youre on the other side, But it makes a little sense if you're right by it but while the vault animation is totally over he can still hit you (like some lag ######### happening)

i concede because i must be overlooking a crucial element to this puzzle. i don't understand exactly what you want from a window.... its not a Stargate. its not even a laundry chute. its just a window.... i'm sorry it doesn't live up to your expectations....

Survivors and killers alike dont even know that you can swing and hit a survivor on the other side 9f a window when no one is vault8ng.
The killer attack has a range. Unless you have run away from the window, the attack still hits.
Vaults arent supposed to be safe zones, they are supposed to let you gain ground on the killer, but not give you a free escape when hes right behind you.1
