Pc player playing on console
I usually play pc dbd but every once in awhile ill play on my xbox so i can chill. Not trying to hate on console players considering i am one but...
- pc players are actually WAY better. yesterday on xbox i went from rank 20 to 7 in a day. on pc id never be able to rank that fast. Had literally one survivor escape with hatch out of loads of games.
- I have noticed that console players clearly dont understand what the term "camping" actually means. 1 out of 4 games ill get a message after saying "nice camp". Its not really a camp when you unhook your friend right in front of me after i just hooked them. OR as soon as i hook them i turn around and the entire team is stacked waiting to unhook. It would indeed be a "camp" if i hooked them and stayed in the general area. If thats the case go do gens and win the game?
point of the post..
console players are quick to cry out "camper!" when in reality they are just bad.

1. Worse graphics
2. Lower FPS
3. Less sensitive controls
4. Less buttons to map actions to

As a console player, I can confirm this is sad but true
6 -
Obviously performance is a factor. Much easier to control with a keyboard and mouse vs the joysticks. This is well known.

Console players aren't better or worse - they just have to deal with the limitations of a controller, worse resolution and worse fps with occasional lag spikes.

I mean who doesn't know this already 😂? The mobility on console and fps is much less than on a PC and a PC can actually modify it if the hardware itself is modified. It's super annoying it's capped and the knowledge over the game for people sometimes can be so minuscule it's actually sometimes embarrassing to be a part of the PS4 community, combined with the amount of toxicity.

I strongly disagree. i play with my xbox controller on pc and do decent. i go over to xbox and destroy people.
only used leather face the whole time btw not a crazy killer.

so basically u are saying why play survivor on console?

@Augustus_IRL What's funny is that it doesn't seem to be a DBD-only thing. I'm a PC player and have been in Overwatch since launch. The few times I jumped over and played on a relative's Xbox One version of Overwatch, it was night and day in skill level. I used Heroes I rarely ever play, and was mowing through my opponents.
Someone told me that PC players tend to be more "hardcore" and "serious" than console players, but I don't know if that is true. I don't play consoles outside of those Overwatch runs. But the skill gap is definitely wide.

Youre right.
ive played overwatch on both as well and know exactly what you mean.
have a buddy that brags about being high ranks in overwatch console and it really means nothing to me. ( i dont tell her that)

@Augustus_IRL We had a family friend migrate from Xbox Overwatch to PC Overwatch this past year. Now, keep in mind, he is also a PC gamer, not just a console player, so he is very familiar with mouse+leyboard usage. He just happened to only play Overwatch on Xbox for two years.
His play ability on our team was atrocious, and this was just in Quick Play. The methods he used to play Heroes like Reinhardt, Zarya, and Winston were instant respawns. Constantly. He was Low Diamond on Xbox, did his PC placements and was mid-silver.
We had to teach him how to play Overwatch the correct way.

Ok so what's the point of the thread anyways? Console players are babies PC players are gods? Is that what you want to read? 🤔

Rank 1 is so easy to get on console. Survivor, in my experience, is actually a bit harder to reach because you consistently get camped and tunneled every game.
2 -
the point of the post was to talk about how people don't understand what camping actually means.

@Yamaoka I would not go as far as to say either of those are true. There can certainly be outstanding players on console that could wipe a floor with a PC player, but that is not the average case in my experience.
I also play cross-platform with console players in Paladins and Realm Royale, and a lot of the times you can clearly tell who the console players are. Whether it's pleasant to say or not, there is a discernible skill gap. Why? I don't know. But it isn't just a hardware issue. Read their forums and Reddit, others notice the gap as well. Hell, console players complain about it when facing PC players, and want the ability to opt-out (which Hi-Rez now offers).
I don't believe DBD should entertain a cross-platform thought.

It depends on the game. If it is a fps of course pc is superior. There are lot of games that can be played hardcore with controler and where keyboard and mouse are not superior to controler.
Source? I played on both platforms since I was six, that is 23 years of gaming.

And btw number of badly optimised games for consoles like dbd is very low.

that's true man. gears of war players are amazing with a controller.

@Shaped Oh, you don't need to source me. I know it's true. I was merely speaking in terms of the games I have personal experience in. But like I said, outside of those Overwatch test runs, I don't play on console myself. I don't even own a single console. I don't like controllers. I always remap my PC games to the keys where my muscle memory is situated. I just don't have the patience to struggle until I develop new muscle memory for all the controller buttons.
My 9-year-old, however, only uses a controller for his PC games. He hates mouse and keyboard. I always hear about controller on PC being a liability. Maybe in top-tier play? I watch this kid headshot people like crazy in PC Overwatch using a controller, as Hanzo no less. And he plays on the wife's account, which isn't a low MMR either.

Literally everyone can go from rank 20 to 7 in a day btw. No matter the platform.

I cant on pc and I can on xbox proving my point

There’s probably more immature kids and casuals playing on console than pc.
Not saying kids don’t play on pc but pc probably has a bigger pool of more serious gamers and adults

I've noticed on rocket league (I'm on ps4), with cross play enabled, the higher ranks you get, you seem to get more lobbies of all PC players instead of mix or mostly console.

The best players on Console are almost as good as the best players on PC, taking into account the limitations of using a controller versus a K+M. The average skill level is probably a lot lower though. There are a lot more boosted SWF players, a lot more kids, and a lot more casual players on PS4 then what I've seen from my more limited playtime on PC.

I have found it to be the opposite.

Because PC's are expensive and DbD isn't exactly well optimized.
1 -
It is definitely because of hardware. Think of it like this, the two groups start with the same game. Some strategies that work on PC will NOT work on console. Some strats are unique to console and will NEVER work on PC. The playerbases have evolved differently. I do not think putting them together is wise, because of the obvious advantage PC players would have naturally. However, I've played quite a few competitive games in my day, and this has ALWAYS been true, console players adapt to the limitations and generally do not follow the same route as PC players, that does not make them less skilled.

On the bright side, they don't get Nurse every other game.
It's where I go when I'm bored of the glorious amounts of counterplay I have against a reactionary blinker.

It's not consoles fault, it's the devs. PS4 has PLENTY of power to run this game at full optimization, just look at GTA5 or RDR2. The devs just don't want to spend the $ to optimize it for console players which is f'd up. I play on ps4 all the time and the lag and hit boxes are horrible as killer. Sometimes your hit goes right through them, but it doesn't count as a hit. Now how in the blue hell does that make sense?

I had play on Xbox for a while since I didn't have my PS4 at the time, I got lucky enough DBD was already on the Xbox
I have to say that yes, Xbox players are much worse than other platforms
I mean, Legion is (or at least was) the top killer at rank 1 on Xbox
