Sprint Burst Bug/Exploit Discussion
So I've always seen killers punished for exploiting certain bugs, Like the not to old legion exploit of infinite mending. yet all of the legion users that did so were punished. Sure the mending was the worst to against, But it is so annoying that a couple of survivors can completely avoid being hit by me just because they have a on demand sprint burst. this bug hurts you in the long run as killer. since most survivors using it let you get just near enough for a hit then SB out of no where to a safe pallet or a strong window. If killers can be punished for bug/exploit abuse, Why not survivors?

It's because the Devs have already set a precedent of not actually banning Survivors ever since the Crotus Debacle.

Don't remember or know what this is mind updating me?

No reason to ban people it'll be fixed in a week.
They realized its dumb to ban people for using perks/add-ons.

its been here for awhile, and I bet it won't be fixed for another week at least prop even longer. its just silly that not "all" exploits can be punished. when the the recent update brought back the legion bug. the players that used it again were banned ( which is a good thing ) and it was fixed very quickly, yet still bans. this SB bug/exploit has been here for awhile now. it should be punished

It was a while back. There was an exploit that allowed Survivors to reach a point on the outside of the Crotus Institute and Killers could not do anything about it. Survivors would hold games hostage for ages with it. There were a lot of videos about it, so it was pretty much common knowledge.
Bhvr came out and said that anyone caught abusing this exploit would be permanently banned. End of story. Afaik, this was the first time such a declaration about an exploit was made(probably because it was getting too well known).
Survivors kept abusing the exploit anyway and some got banned, as promised. Weeks later, the exploit was fixed and Bhvr came out again and announced the inclusion of the soft ban system and those "permanently" banned would have that ban count as their first strike.
So even under the threat of a permanent ban, Survivors still abused the exploit, and Bhvr didn't have the guts to keep to their promise and let them off the hook. Is there really any teeth behind threats of bans anymore?

sb possible to make it 95% or 99% and active when you want
you never figure it out in game they exploiting or not
only can spectate to see it
sometimes not popping unintentionally makes survivors get hit
and now theres never happen like use multiple time or something

When they are sprinting, then they go a bonus 50% speed out of no where, without stopping, you can clearly see it.

Only if you literally never stop running. The fixed it so holding shift while performing an action doesn't keep exhaustion from recovering.

very short of stop pressing w looks like it

this is not really true, you can tell when someone stops running for a second vs when they just suddenly get faster while running with no interruption

Banning people for abusing legion.
Yet killers have to get molested by survivor mains using Sprint Burst.
I just played a casually round of DbD when I encountered a Squad all exploiting SB, despite my best efforts I lost.
Killers are getting treat like #########, over and over again.

As a pretty good killer, you can tell the difference, especially when its been under 30 seconds from game start and a survivor "already sprinting" gets the 50% of speed. which would've prompted way sooner

There are plenty of killers bugs as well that aren't bannable. The mend exploit was out for a long time before they started banning for it.

Lets hope they start doing it to survivors, because I've ran into around 30 people doing it so far

The sprint burst exploit is one of the hardest ones to prove, There are many people that just run sprint burst. Plus they could have saved it at a certain point. There would be a lot of false reports and it would be really hard to tell who is actually doing the exploit and who is falsely reported but hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Didn't think about that they would need good video evidence on it

I got accused doing this bug but in reality I did the sprint control tech (exhaustion nearly recovered and tapped shift to recovery fully and activate it). How are you going to tell the difference between someone who abused the bug and someone who used the LEGIT tech? It's impossible.

Those survivors who kept abusing it probably never heard the threat of BHVR to get permanently banned. That's why they kept doing it. Or they just simply didn't care

As a killer with about 800 hours I can tell when a survivor stops running and hits a sprint burst, Trust me I can tell. I'll try to get some recordings on it happening. because it is (80% of the time) noticeable.

Both things (sprint control and the current exploit) are working the same way: quickly release the sprint button and press it again and your sprint burst activates. There is no way from a killers perspective to know what exactly the survivor did. Only the survivor himself knows what exactly he did

I think people are forgetting that knives got bugged again (at the same time as Wake Up) and no one got banned for that.

You are wrong, you don't play killer enough, and when a match just started and in the middle of chase they do it. You can tell
