Fix Freddy's Hand! Give us back the effect!
So one of the most apparent visual changes to Freddy after his rework is that when he channels to teleport to a gen, he uses the same animation as he did when channeling to put a survivor to sleep. The only difference is now he doesn't have that incredibly cool effect with the orange and black smoke and the faces of a screaming woman. That was such a neat effect and now it's just... gone. I know he has different mechanics now but why remove such a cool design aspect of him? Can I please get some clarification on this and perhaps know that the Devs are gonna fix this in a hotfix or patch sometime soon? @Peanits

Please, I even said this in another thread:
This effect was so cool, the dream warriors and everything! :D

I always did like that effect when you sleep someone as to why they remove that is beyond me

I like old freddy in general so bring this back would be nice

Exactly. I’m adamant about this ######### so I’m not gonna let this thread die either. Give us back the smoky dream effect, devs!
1 -
Yes!!! They have to give us back the effect, it's too cool to get rid of
1 -
Damn straight. I haven’t even heard any reasoning for why it’s gone all of a sudden.
3 -
Perhaps they removed it because they are planning a Robert Englund Freddy skin in the future
The original effect utilized 2008 remake imagery perhaps the legal agreement means there can be no counter splicing between the two incarnations
Or perhaps this is just me being desperate and looking for any signs of a Robert Englund skin

I did think that was interesting. No other killer had anything like that.

Oh, yes, nothing should be wasted! **
1 -
Regardless if that’s sarcasm, the animation existed and was unique to Freddy, there’s no reason to toss it aside.
3 -
Freddy has baby hands now lol
2 -
Bahahaha
5 -
Why'd I think that woman's face was @not_Queen lolol
3 -
I've always wondered who it could be!
2 -
I always thought the face thing was rather weird tbh. I didn't like it.

+1 This, and I think its a shame that when he attacks a non sleeping survivor we no longer get the "reality splitting" rippling shimmer effect. It might be a pain to include it for only when he attacks survivors outside of the dream world, so maybe just have it apply to all of his attacks in general or if possible only on missed attacks? It just really cemented the idea that he was breaking through to the real world while trying to attack awake survivors. True it used to only happen because his attack wouldn't hit them before, but it was a pretty nifty effect.

This effect could play when hitting a survivor who isn't asleep. Getting hit now forces the survivor to sleep, so it's the same as the pulling them into the dream world.

Originally they had the Rippling Shimmer effect tied to the chase: No chase = Effect, In Chase= No effect. Since awake survivors never triggered the chase the effect would apply if you attacked too early, or if you just attacked the air. Now Freddy triggers the chase every time with both sleeping and awake survivors, so in order for them to bring it back for the circumstance of attacking awake survivors they'd have to tie it to something else. If possible, maybe they could tie it to the TR: Survivor hears TR = Effect, Survivor hears Lullaby = No Effect? I'm unsure if that would be possible, but it would be great if they could bring it back... as well as the screaming faces in his left hand when he sets snares or pallets of course.

Dude, that sounds sick! More animation the better!
1 -
Or when he teleports to a generator or set a trap, I just need thus effect back :)
1 -
it was a really nice animation tho, why got it even removed.
1 -
Dont touch Freddy xD

1 -
Agreed. @Peanits I know you’re always lurking, can we get some information if this issue is being looked at?
2 -
I fully support this happening.

2 -
For the Dream Warriors! :D
3 -
Aye, for the Dream Warriors!

Devs... I still haven't heard word about fixing this issue... @Peanits What's going on over there?
1 -
Nothing yet? Darn.
2 -
Still nothing. Since this thread isn't breaking any rules, I'm just gonna keep adding on to it every couple days or so until we get this ######### fixed. @Peanits

Devvvvvvvvvsssssss, anything happening over there about this? @Peanits

Devs. We're still here. We still want this fixed. It's just an animation, we know, but c'monnnnnn, please? @Peanits

14 days and not a single word from the devs... @Peanits

Perhaps, but still, you could use it during gen teleport.

I agree the effect was cool, but it just doesn't belong now with his new teleport ability. It made sense to have it when he put survivors to sleep, as you would see their faces, but now that they are already asleep, and he just teleports, there is no reason for the effect to be there. Again, I agree it was a cool effect, but just my thoughts.

The faces represented captured souls in the Dream World. Now he just waves his hand, doing the same animations, and it's like he's swatting a fly away or something. The effect made it.

if you give us the effect we won't complain about balance and we'll buy all your cosmetics
