Are there really more killers than survivors or is the lobby actually bugged?
Does anyone have stats or something? i've been rank 20 and i've been rank 1 with killer, lobbies take too long honestly no matter what rank

The devs are afraid of releasing meaningful data that you can draw proper conclusions from so one knows for sure
Considering the track record regarding asinine bugs in the game personally I think it's entirely possible that something in the matchmaking broke

Matchmaking is buggy, but all the recent PTBs and releases have been centered on killers. It's not unlikely that there are actually more killers on most servers than usual.

If you're on the PC, it's both. Matchmaking is messed up cause the system currently in place is supposed to find all 5 players before making the lobby, and then make it with all 5 of them in it. However, it doesn't do that, so what happens is killer has to wait for about 5 minutes for the lobby to get made and then it's random how many survivors are in when it's made and then they have to wait close to what they previously had to wait for instant lobbies on top of that.
But it is true that there are more killers than survivors on PC. For some reason, consoles seem to have more survivors than killers though.

I can only see the US west lobbies, which is my region but right now:
DBD Lobbies (US West)
55 killers and 160 survivors waiting in lobbies.
do the maths but keep in mind, many are from out of my region, lots of VPN users

I think it's the matchmaking, I don't believe the "too many killers" claim

And many more don't show up due to having friends-only or fully private profiles.

Matchmaking is still putting people of way off ranks into games with each other. Amplified even more with people with already long wait times.
That's intentional for SWF groups. For non-full groups (2 or 3 SWF players) it's not confirmed what happens exactly for matchmaking but most likely it just slaps players from any rank into the lobby to make it fill faster
