Exhaustion addons
So, i've recently heard that the devs are looking into reworking/removing the exhaustion addons from killers. I was just wondering why on earth this was a change that was ever needed or discussed?

i think certain exhaustion add ons would have to be removed (the ones with higher tiers to them, since the brown one and the purple one both have the exact same effect, so its a waste to bring the purple one)
but i think they should generally stay.
i like the clowns exhaustion add on - it makes him a threat.
imo, keep the lowest grade of them and rework the higher graded ones to have different effects.

Because exhaustion perks can only be used once in a chase and *most of the time* only extend the chase by a few seconds. Also, clown's solvent jug takes no skill to apply the effect as the bottles cover a moderately large area.

Yeah but they are still pretty strong with no real counter play. At least having the addons an option for the killer means if they want to try and prevent some exhaustion perks they have the option too. And seen as clown is the worst killer in the game at the moment with the devs not too interested in buffing him, i think he needs all the help he can get honestly.

I mean, i agree the two rarity of addons need to be further apart from one another in design as you've said they effectively do the same thing. But i still don't think these addons should be removed entirely which may be the case.

Clown? Worst Killer?.....what

Yes. Clown is the worst killer in the game at the moment.

Ok buddy.

well, the higher rarity add on could also add a secondary status effect, that would also work.
like i said, i wouldnt like them to be gone neigther. the exhaustion add on is like the only thing that gives me a good reason to play clown xD because he actually has a very threatening chase ability with it.

on 2 of the 3 plattforms he is the killer with the lowest kill rate in the game.
on PS4 he is top 3 i think.
might also just be the lack of players, so a single bad game has much more weight than lets say a billy game, since there are way more billy games out there

I mean. Feel free to disagree, just whats your reasoning behind it?

Legion, Bubba, and Wraith existing is my reasoning. Also hes pretty good at slowing down and ending chases. Im not arguing he's top tier or anything, just not the worst.

Hopefully its only something like that. If its a nerf to them ill be annoyed tho as it sounded they were more leaning in that direction.

Plague is also the killer with the highest kill rate, does that mean Plague is the best killer? No, wherever you think plague is on the tier list doesn't matter, shes not the best in the game.

oh, they probaply will.
but as i said, its the only thing making clown really threatening. at least HIS exhaustion add on should stay / be put into his basekit.
clownie needs buffs anyway, so why not?

I mean the killers you've listed area pretty low tier killers without any argument i don't think. However, the reason why i think clown is the worst killer is simply because hes got so many bugs. He gets slowed when using his power and he actually gets slowed when throwing hit bottles. There are 2 or 3 videos made solely listing out clowns bugs. But yeah, those are low tier killers also with their own shortcomings, i just think clown is at the bottom of them.

i can definitely second that

i just tried to explain why people say it is that way.
i personally dont agree on that, since he might not be very strong, but there are others with powers even worse than his (looking at you, legion and bubba)

The slowed movement speed when charging and throwing bottles isn't a bug, and it's hardly substantial considering the hinderance penalty survivors get. He's also good at herding.

They're a bit of a touchy subject. They're good and worth taking, but they're also completely dependent on the survivor bringing an exhaustion perk to begin with. Moreover, it hurts the weaker exhaustion perks (e.g. Head On) more than it does the stronger ones (e.g. Sprint Burst). A perk that activates right away is almost guaranteed to go off before you can use that add-on while something like Head On requires setup and typically can't be used right away.
Previously, they were in a much better spot. Even if they were using a perk that activated right away, being able to keep them exhausted was very useful. Now that exhaustion doesn't cooldown in a chase, they basically guarantee that certain perks can't be used while others go more or less unaffected.
We can't say if or how they will change right now, but they might be looked at in the future.

my mistake with the wording. i mean to say they were two seperate things. his bugs and the slowdown. But survivors can just camp pallets and his slow down is pretty redundant

I mean. That judgement is fair enough regarding they are a lot stronger now that the exhaustion status effect has changed by no longer cooling down during chase. But removing/hard nerfing exhaustion addons puts the killer in the exact same position as they were in before in the sense that they wouldn't really have a counterplay to exhaustion perks.
If the devs feel like they need to be changed in some way then fair enough to properly seperate them from one another like @Mister_xD suggested. But im just hoping they arent nerfed too much or flat out removed for that matter.
Also, Its not like every killer has exhaustion addons either. So to say it burdens certain exhaustion perks more (like head on) goes hand in hand in that respect. As lower killers benefit more from them than higher tiered killers (some of which don't even have these addons available).
