Rewards for Ranking Up

Ranks need some rewards, I think that's obvious. Question is what rewards. Here's what I think.

  • Discounts on cosmetics, bloodweb items, and perks in the shrine
  • More Shards gained per level
  • Increased likelihood of getting rarer bloodpoint offerings in the bloodweb

Whether these bonuses are based on the specific rank or rank grouping (red, purple, green, etc) doesnt matter, but they should increase the higher the rank. For the discounts maybe at best (red ranks/rank 1) maybe like a 30% discount. Then purple ranks would be 15%. Then green ranks would be 5%. Grey and Yellow would probably stay base. Of course, in order for these changes to be implemented I think ranking up has to be harder. What do you think about these rewards?

    You see that's something everybody (me too) would like to see implemented. But think about the downsides:

    -you would get even sweatier match at red ranks then now, basically only swf for killers and killers who stall the match to pip for survivors;

    -once somebody reach rank 1, he would probably drop the game 'til the 13th, so that he could not lose the rewards, this may create a massive playerbase loss.

    As always, we need to wait and see how this new mechanic, the archive is going to work.

    Perhaps what rank you derank to on rank reset depends on 1. What rank you were previously and 2. How active you were at that rank. So if you get to Red Ranks and just float there for the benefits, then at rank reset youll be reset down a lot farther.

    I think in order to prevent people from dropping the game once getting to rank 1, the discount could apply to only one purchase. You get 30% discount on ONE item/set/character/ for that month/rank rotation. Once you use it you have to wait for rank reset to get another one.

    And as mentioned in the OP, each colour/rank could have a different discount percentage, and that discount can also only be used once. I hope that makes sense.
