FOV changes?

This might be me being silly, but I still don’t understand what Field of View refers to in terms of perks that increase FOV. I’ve tried to search online but in videos I’ve found I can’t notice the change, probably because I don’t know what I’m looking for.


What actually is affected by perks like Shadowborn and Monitor & Abuse?


And what effect does that have? Which killers can benefit from this?

    Basically killers ave about an 85° FOV which means you see directly in front and ~42° on each side, the before mentioned perks increases that FOV, shadow born increasing I by a max of 16°if I'm not mistaken and M&A increase it somewhere between 8° and 12° max (idk because I use wraith who really only needs shadow born)
