I just played a game and a meg told me I will get banned, I'm worried
I was playing as the Hillbilly in Lery's and i was chasing a meg. Suddenly she stopped in place, but her character was running, looked so weird. I just hit her and hooked her. Later, at the lobby chat, she said to me that she recorded everything and I will get banned for lag switching, that she will send the video. I didn't do anything. My internet connection is perfectly fine. Am I in danger? She sent the video so I'm a bit worried.

The problem is that she said she teleported back (like 20m) and that sounds like a lagswitch lol. I would've reported that too. I guess the devs can see if I lagswitched or just was a problem of the game itself.

That just sounds like bad lag tbh. You guys may be far from each other and because of that she was horribly lagging.

I have been reported for lag switching more that 500 times since 2 years .
And I'm not even exaggerating the number bud .
I never got banned .

You could have noticed they were lagging and left them alone. But it's fine, take what you can get I suppose.

@Rasinbran why should they of left them alone? not their fault the meg was lagging, lag can happen through the entire game and they can't just keep leaving meg alone i find lag people worse as they seem to teleport lol

A lot of survivors that I have beaten had threaten me with reports and bans. The only thing you can do in these situations is laugh and make fun of them.

Yikes, you're probably not meant to play killer, if you're worried that some random guy told you that you'll be banned.... i don't see you in a good light in high ranks with how toxic survivors are there.
Either grow tough skin or don't play killer / close the chat.

I've been threatened, with death threats, racism, insults, etc... But a survivor has never said to me that they recorded "a lagswitch" and they'll send it. That's why I was worried because I didn't know if I had to counter that by sending another video with my PoV or something. Do you understand now, tough guy?

Its the same thing like threats, actually devs don't ban in this game.
You really really i mean REALLY have to go out of your way to get banned, look how many DCs are in the game and they still play the game, do you really thing they are going to ban someone because they LAGGED ?
I know people that abused bugs, cheated have proofs and they still play the game as we speak soo...

Lag spikes happen even with the best connections, a random accident won't get you banned.

It goes along with playing fair but I understand people are so desperate for a rank that doesn't have any reward.

I heard from people who seriously got banned after a player said that a friend/dad or whatever is working at bhvr and they will make sure to sort them out of the game just because they were salty losing. They showed screenshots of them saying that which was really scary not gonna lie. And since ban appeals are doing ######### he was never unbanned and noone could provide him at least a reason.
So hopefully he has no direct contact to bhvr and you should be fine.

I am not entirely sure if the devs can explicitly see the difference between an incredibly "convenient" lagspike and an actual lagswitch in their logging, but even if they can't you'd need to get a LOT of those little incidents to realistically get in any trouble. No connection can be 100% stables every single second of the day, year in and year out.

I'm betting there was more to those stories, like actual rule-breaking over a prolonged period of time, culminating in a well-deserved ban.

It's the game itself that is causing it. I've had 15 games as survivor where I just warp back to a point I hadn't been since early in the game, but was still able to do objectives and get hooked. Couldn't run out the exit or self heal though, game said no to that even though the killer saw me "escape." Got sacrificed to the entity because of it. Grand time.
