DCing in order for the last survivor to get the hatch is perfectly fine!
Long story short: I had this game against a 4 man SWF. Killed 2 and found the last 2 together, downed one and the other ran to the hatch while the downed DC'ed. The last survivor escaped thanks to his pall DCing.
This is nothing new. This happens all the time. In this case it was pretty obvious and I had all in video so I decided to open a ticket in DBD support to show the video, to better support my in-game report.
It was an easy temporary ban in my head but to my surprise I get an answer from support saying that DCs don't need to be report and so no action would be taken. (LOL) To be fair, this is true. DCs don't need reporting but this is more than just a DC, this is an exploit. They are taking a competitive advantage from it.
So basically, the message is: you can DC for the last survivor to escape... that's perfectly fine. Just don't do it too much or you might hit the DC threshold that might get you banned. As long as you don't do it too much, use DC as a strategy!
Is this how we are going to improve game's health? By watching these exploits and ignore them?

And this is why the disconnect ban system is trash

To quote the killer mains here, that sounds like your problem lol. Survivors aren't responsible for your fun. 😂

I don't contribute for the Killer vs Survivor war. I play both roles equally. I play all characters equally. I just want the game to be fun and fair for both sides.
This is an exploit. Plan and simple and the game's support doesn't care so why should I care ?
I'll just start DCing also.

DC before they DC...

Hey why not? Sometimes it's the better strategy. If i got stuck with suicidal survivors why should i stick around to see my character die again?

All DCs are logged and bans are handed out automatically. Why'd you expect something different? This is like sending a letter to your government's finance department every single time you purchase something, even though they have all that information already.

Lol yep, I’m a survivor...my job is to either survive myself or help members of my team survive! That is all.

It is fine, the one whom disconnected punished themselves to allow a friend to escape

They are taking a competitive advantage from it. It's more than just a random DC. It's an exploit. It's an exploit enabled by DCing.
Literally their definition of exploiting:
"Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage"
How would the last guy get the hatch if not for his pal DC? How is not abusing a design flaw? tell me.

The devs treat all DCs the same way. If you didn't know that before, which I highly doubt, you do now.

Well, it's wrong. And if they are serious about the year 4 being all about the game's health. That needs to change.

Well, dedicated servers are coming this summer with better DC penalties, and they've talked about a feature that will leave behind a survivor husk when they DC. Is that good enough?

and until then, its fine to DC as long as you don't abuse it too much. Even when you have a video of someone clearly using as an exploit ? Even if there are no doubts about it... we'll ignore because it's a DC. Is that it ?

There is a percentage you have to reach to be generally banned for DCs. For all you know, something might have happened in real life that forced them to DC in that circumstance. It's why there are no bans for one time DCs, even with "proof" as there could have been a reason as to why they had to DC.
One DC should never be the reason for a ban for anyone. We would end up banning everyone from the game then.
Plus your title is incorrect from your statement in the post - which I have edited as a courtesy.
