A purpose to giving thumbs-up?
I want to start some suggestions on how to make giving a thumbs-up actually rewarding for someone. My only suggestion so far is to give a bit of bloodpoints to the person you just gave a thumbs-up too but I'm more curious to hear your proposals.

Something like...
"You have received x amount of thumbs up, have 1.5x BP for the next match" Would be pretty chill, I'd end up thumbsing up most survivors from my killer games and most killers that don't tunnel/camp.
Should be restricted so you can't thumbs up your friends/give out too many in a day.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about is how exploitable something like that could become , especially if you could do it in swf groups.

With the proposed friendslist coming in DBD it might make it even easier to be less exploitable, by not being able to thumbs anyone up on your FL unless they're the killer but who knows.

Maybe simply have it on a time limit? As in oh you just got your bloodpoint boost this game now wait 3-5 hr for the next one. At that point though it goes back to, would it be worth it?

Overwatch has a system like that. You can give props to your team once. If you end up with the same team members, you cant give them props again for however long,
Maybe some kind of reward for hitting certain milestones of thumbs up?

Yeah, think this system could definitely work. I guess it really depends on how big the bp boost is? If it's too small nobody will care yet if too big, everybody will just spam it instantly. I also really like your milestones idea, maybe it slightly increases the bp multiplier?

"exploitedable"... This game is so grind heavy, even exploiting this wouldnt change much

I can't wait to see the grind changes coming in the next patch. If it's anything like that one person suggested then it'll be so much better.

Come on, you guys are smarter than that, you can't thumbs up the same person/you can't thumbs up people you're paired with,
I highly doubt players are going to lobby dodge until they're together to cheese 1.5x bp etc etc for one game honestly.

Could you somehow block this ability when playing with friends? If not then as already previously suggested a lock or cooldown timer for x amount of hours definitely should be implemented.

That would definitely be an option, yes, except then let's assume you're playing with three friends. You're all completely at the mercy of that one guy if you want any chance of receiving that thumbs up. If he had a bad game, or maybe someone peed in his Cheerios that morning, you get nothing.
In any case, I really don't mean to come across as, "No, this idea is bad and can't be saved." It'd just be nice to see if there's any other ideas for how it can be used before going all in on one.

I don't think the majority of killers are like that in all honesty.
I certainly wouldn't be like that, I'd probably give the thumbs up anyways.
I'd rather have the chance at getting bonus bp than nothing.
Additionally, 2 mans are what, 40%? There's definitely a chance you'll get thumbs up from other survs anyway.

I think even just a "positivity" counter would be good. Not negative counter, only positive. I think this eould be enough to help the comunity being more friendly "hey, the killer think i played good this match.. well actually he wasnt bad as well.. im gonna thumb up him as well"
Giving bp/shards seem cool, and is easy to avoid exploiting of it. Devs already want to add a "friend list". Well make it so you can only invite friends and you cant thumb up people on your list or people removed from it during the last X amount of time(to avoid inviting then removing from friend). Also, you cant thumb up the same person 2 times within x amount of time.
I am not sure if bp is the best thing to give. I guess new thing would be even better, but i dont have a clear idea right now.

I'd absolutely mindlessly be thumbing up everyone else, regardless of their behavior.
Purely to spread the good word.

I've definitely gotta agree with the milestone suggestion so that it really wouldn't matter if someone goes "no thumbs-up for you better luck next time" so that you will eventually get a thumbs up from a random. Or maybe when you give a thumbs-up to somebody you yourself get a very small amount of bloodpoints?

Plz no, CSGO had a system where we can commend players and it ended in like 40% of players never leaving spawn in favor of begging for them in the chat.

To be fair you can't really beg for something like that in DBDfor console or in game cause, number one no chat and number 2 the killer will probably just find you and force you to play or simply kill you. Now with that said, PC guys have it worse because you got pre and post game chats so I have zero idea on how that would play out.

The first one is legit but for your second argument, i saw plenty of times where i and the other 3 were dead because the match was basicly 4 vs 5 only to spectate a ######### still at spawn trying to argue for them in the chat. Hell i even saw enemies running up to them with a knife from like 30 meters and killing them which threw the game even further considering the bonus money it gives.

Idk, Wraith kinda has a piece of cloth...

CSGO has a timer right in all game modes right, so eventually the match will end? I honestly don't know much about CSGO but if you where to just simply stand there in DBD that would very quickly become the worlds longest running DBD match. Plus they could always add a in game timer to counter act this or simply a afk punishment like most "competitive" games.
