Can we make keys more visible?

For killers it's hard to see if the survs are using them, well for me it is, even when waiting for a game i can't much tell if someone has a key, i have to ask first is it meant to be intentional? I just wish they were more visible and in game too, everything else is visible, also may help to know if i need to kill a surv, if hatch closes lol

Also for survs, if someone has lost/dropped a key, it's not an easy find on the floor. :(

So how is it supposed to be more visible? Just curious how a key could be more noticed...

Should we make it the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts? Not meaning to be rude, I just don't see how they could be more visible is all.

I think the key model could do with an update entirely.

Put a ‘keychain’ on the key with some brightly coloured trinkets and stuff on it. Maybe make the trinkets depend on add-ons, but still have trinkets on them when they don’t have add-ons. Probably give the key a bit of a polish so it looks silver instead of dark grey as well... and there we go, a more visible key.

I have no problem with keys they are pretty visible for me with the survivors arm position

I have no problem seeing Keys in the Lobby. The animation also slightly changes, when someone is holding a Key. I mean, Killers see the Survivors to prepare (at least they are claiming that), so they should pay attention in the Lobby.

Also I would not like to see Keys become more visible on the ground. It might be useful for Survivors, but I feel, when a Killer does not pussy out because of an Item and actually is using Franklins Demise, a powerful Item like a Key does not have to be super-obvious on the ground, to make it easy to find the Key again.

And last but not least - they are small. Of course they are more difficult to see than Toolboxes or Medkits.

Agreed. Keys should be a bit bigger and shiny, then there shouldn't be a problem.

    No. :)

I rather agree with the proposal to slightly enlarge the key and make it slightly shiny.

And also agree with the impossibility of the killer to see the items of the survivors in the lobby. Nothing justifies that, the survivors do not see anything of the killer, there is no reason for the killer to be encouraged to use Franklin's Demise for example or to adopt a particular behavior upstream.

yes i mean everything is enlarged, so why not just an enlarged key, size of the med kit? it doesn't and would not bother anyone, it disappears anyway with gens, totems etc

It should be bigger, but more importantly some survivor animations need to be changed. In the lobby Nea particularly hides her arm behind her leg. It's fine when a medkit or toolbox sticks out, but with a key she hides the entire thing.

As for hiding items altogether? No, that would be horrendous for balance.

Making it shine would be very useful

When playing killer I lost one or two survivors so many times just because I didnt know they had a key

Once I understood it was too late, they already found the hatch and just stood around it to farm BPs with totems or hooks

Nea grabs her arm when she has no item. If she does not do it, she is holding an item.

I mean...Just use your eyes FFS. It is not hard to spot a key in the Lobby when you actually pay attention and not just use the lobby to chicken out once you see one item.

Maybe it could be a slight buff to Franklin's so it shows the item they are carrying on your hud when in a chase with the addons attached to it and how much use is left?

Yeah, you can tell on Fengs because her pose changes clearly, but like on Claudette is almost impossibile, thepose is fhe same, she has black hands hiding the key...

The keys aren't very hard to notice tbh. It should be hard to see it's not like everything is exactly shiny and clean in the game. If you dislike keys pay attention to the survivors hand in lobby if they manage to get a key in game you can still see it it's just not as easy. Besides dropping a key makes it hard to find if you don't know exactly where I like that challenge

Its always funny running around like a mad man looking for your dropped key.

When the survivor wakes up at the campfire their legs are paralyzed and they have to sit there, telling themselves to move their big toe.

Remove the killer's ability to see the lobby players. What's the point of bringing survivor items if a killer will know ahead of time what we are carrying? What a waste

Just making it silver instead of black would help a lot. Making it slightly bigger would be nice as well.

Because the Killer, being the POWER ROLE gets to see what Survivors bring in.

That's kind of how the game works; Killers know, generally who/what they are facing. it worked better before 'teachables', because character = perks, but it still works for items.

Lordy, the buffs some Survivors want.

I find it difficult to see if someone has a key. It should be obvious like most of the other items. The map is unnecessarily huge so making the key more obvious by either being larger or brighter wouldn't look out of place.

From the perspective of the killer looking at the survivors in the lobby, they are all stood at an angle that almost hides what is in their right hand I need to know whether to tunnel or not.

It would also be useful for survivors to see a glint of a dropped key.

yes and it isn't about doging those who have keys or anything, just for killers it's hard to see for some people, everything else but the keys are big and so why not them too? and from a survs pov, be easy to find it on the floor and woohoo out the trap door

Like Mr Mushwin says, it helps Killers (when seeing items) make a plan, to help with tactics and what load build they are gonna do.

It's called swap to the character with the item on at 6 seconds.
