Role queue
I'm kinda tired seeing ppl good at juking getting all the points and glory.
I had an idea similar to the current emblem system. I wouldn't lock the characters but *some* perks would be only available to certain roles.
Ex;
Roles:
Healer: (selfcare, botanist, empathy, etc.) +50% BP, efficiency and speed towards healing actions and items. +25% BP for teamwork actions.
Mechanic: (saboteur, technician, wake up, etc.) +50% BP, efficiency and speed towards repair/sabotage actions and items. +25% BP for stealth actions.
Tank: (dead hard, pharmacy, we're gonna live forever, etc.) +50% BP for taking hit on self or for others and safe unhook. +25% BP during chases.
Medium : (spine chill, premonition, alert, etc.) +50% BP seeing the killer and escaping from him or his terror radius. +25% BP for stealth actions.

I don't think roles would really work in this game, since perks are interchangeable, and people would riot if they suddenly could not use <x> perk because their roles does not allow it.

It would make the game Much better and balanced imo. Everyone would still be able to use most perks and repair gens or wtv but it wouldn't be "efficient". It would also add a goal for each survivor instead of just "I* need to survive".

Get a SWF group and roleplay your class system. People have spent time making it so they can run any build they want. Taking that away is going to be very difficult and riots did I mention riots?

not a good idea because builds are builds for a reason, and classifying them would remove variety and hinder gameplay. it also might start making people "main" classes, so you'll end up getting comfortable with going against certain builds, weakening your killer gameplay against others.

Still, I think roles would not work in this game. Just because they work in different games (Mostly FPS's) does not mean they'd work here.

You could still use any characters but their perks has to match the role requirement. Certain perks could be cross roles.
Also, these rules wouldn't be applied to private matches.

Again; people would not be happy if, suddenly, 2 perks they used together were now in 2 separate roles.
Role queue would not work in DBD.

No. It's a bad idea. Role Queue does not work in all games. This is one of them. Survivors don't have roles. Survivors can use any perk they own.
That is how DBD is.

See what I mean lol most ppl here are just mad bc they couldn't just run around using DH and letting their team do the rest whilst farming BP.
This as to be stop and role queues would help A LOT.

This game is supposed to be a scary asym game, not overwatch. The lack of comunication was an intentional design to make survivors not know the intentions of the other survivors to increase weariness of working with them. Doing this would almost entirely defeat the purpose of this being a horror game since it's now just an asymertical reverse pac-man fan fiction.
To all the people who were about to comment "BuT ThE GaMe DoSeNT ScAre ME!11!1!!" You need to relax, if you are on these forums you likely have been playing for a while, you are numb to this games horror. To new player this game could actualy be scary and I think thats a big bit of the apeal.

Even if roles was "such a great idea" the roles would be HORRIBLY unbalanced. Like out of all 65 survivor perks, only 10 would actually make sense to be in the healer role as an example.

Anyways back on topic; I'm still looking for the name of the game. Basically you are 4 hunters (Medic, trapper, etc) vs a killer (xenomorph, chtullu, etc.)

DBD matchmaking is already bad enough with long wait times for games and poor rank matching. Imagine how long you would have to wait in order to find 4 survivors of unique roles who are close to each other in rank...
As others have said, it's an idea that simply wouldn't be viable for DBD.

Also, whilst looking I saw Identity V. Which is literally Dead by Daylight but with puppets.
They have roles and except the pc cheaters it works pretty well.

Identity V is on phone, has ranks AND roles. Even then the queues are similar to DbD.
I see a lot of ppl saying it wouldn't work but it would. Wether it would be a good idea or not so far in the game's life can be debated BUT it would work.

The reason roles don't work in this game is it creates meta characters. The ones with the best perks will always be the ones you see. This is why survivors are just skins in essense.
Imo roles are bad due to the ones which reward normal play being better. Take healing others for example it is too dependent on wether the killers allows it and also if the other survivors let you heal them. Then there is the risk of people not doing certain actions due to it not being rewarded for their role.
This may work out better with SWF but random solo players won't care about the others they will use what they feel is strongest for them.

This role queue idea is one of the worst ideas on the forums I've seen in a while, sorry man but this would kill the game and will never happen.
Nothing wrong with running around with DH whilst your team fixes gens, it's teamwork, one distracts the killer, three do gens.

Not it isn't but it is very similar! I came accros it too.
The game is basically you kill and eat animals to grow a mutation and get strong enough to kill the hunters after you.
They on the opposite side have to find you as quick as possible before you Fully mutate. If that happen or they suffer a death they can try to escape.

That's why most would queue as tank but those that enjoy healing, hiding or repairing stuff would queue for the other roles.
I agree healing would be a bit situational but a dev could find another similar action to reward. Or maybe if a survivor lets the healer heal them they both get extra BP.

Eeeehh...I can't really agree or disagree.
I got into Evolve when it became Evolve² and the rotating paywall & Role Queue forced me to play Healer in my first game (I queued for DPS).
Because of the rotating paywall, the 'free' healer was the Bug person; THE HARDEST HEALER. Which I was forced to play...when I did not know the mechanics..
My team made literal death threats after the game was over. There was no way to report in game, so I posted on the forums and got told 'Yeah. Mods don't care. Suck it up and move on'
So Evolve² was garbage and even the Role Queue was trash, IMO.

And again during private matches you could run your regular builds and what not.
I just think adding a role queue during random matchmakings would help focus everyone's attention towards a simple goal, leading towards the bigger goal (team escape).

Soon there will be archives and the rift (battle pass), so don't worry that players won't have something to do soon.
They're scheduled for the next mid chapter which will be around October/November.

The issue is there are only two main objectives. Doing gens and avoiding the killer. Everything else is secondary so the ones which reward these will always be what people use. This ends up lowering variety.
As I said swf possibly may play around with it but solos will use what serves them best. This is not a team game if you are solo and people only save as it gives them a better chance and points.
