My 2 Perk Ideas

I have an idea for 2 perks (one killer and one survivor)

-------- PERK NAMES & DESCRIPTIONS ----------------

1. PLUNDERER'S DEMISE: Whenever a survivor opens a chest, he/she suffers from the exposed status effect for 30 seconds. This perk can only be triggered once every 75/60/45 seconds.

2. PRECISION: Your perseverance in desperate times fills you with unmatched focus. Skill-checks appear 20%/25%/30% more frequently.

--------- EXPLANATIONS ------------

1. First, I would want the devs to use the chest icon on the main menu for the Plunderer's Demise perk. On the main menu are the Prove Thyself and Thanatophobia perk icons. There are other unused icons on that same menu that look good and one is of a chest. It would fit this perk I suggested.

2. This perk would be only for those who are very good at skill-checks. For many survivors, this perk could screw you over if there is a Hex: Ruin or Hex: Huntress Lullaby by making skillchecks much harder to hit consistently. But it also has potential to help with perks such as Autodidact or with Stake Out by allowing you to use your tokens instead of having them sit waiting desperately for a skill check that just doesn't seem to want to pop up.

----------- P.S. -----------------

I had an idea for my Plunderer's Demise perk that whenever a survivor opened a chest, the survivor that opened the chest plus one random survivor would also become exposed for 30 seconds. I don't know if that would be too OP, though. I think it would allow the perk to become stronger.

This would be the altered version:

PLUNDERER'S DEMISE [V2]: Whenever a survivor opens a chest, that survivor and another survivor chosen at random suffer from the exposed status effect for 30 seconds. This perk can only be triggered once every 75/60/45 seconds.

--------------------

Let me know what you guys think of my perk ideas.

-----------------

This is the photo with the icons. The icon on top of where it says STORE could be a good fit for Plunderer's Demise. And maybe the first icon could be for Precision.

You, sir or ma'am, are a monster for suggesting I be punished for plundering. HOW DARE.

But on a serious note, that's a pretty harsh penalty to pay for a brown toolbox.

Without offerings, there are 3 chests on the map. That means your perk can be activated 3 times at max. When the other survivors notice that the killer runs that perk, they won't search any more chests. Haunted Ground and MYK are much better.

Regarding the skill check perk: I don't think anybody would run it as almost every killer uses Ruin in the high and mid ranks.

I don't rly like these ideas, sorry. Not because these perks would be OP or garbage, just these whole ideas are not interesting to me.

That's fair. Thanks for the feedback. Is there anything that could make them interesting?

I would LOVE precision BUT wouldn't it make gen rush even easier ? Aren't the devs trying to work against that ?

1st Perk: Mayebe add something like "fake" chest(s) that will appear. If Survivor open that chest, they will got Exposed and no item will be given OR that instead of exposing Survivors give them that item but it will be like damaged (that item will have less charges or something) and it will repleace original chests (instead of adding new).

2nd Perk: This one is like Unnerving Presence. We allready have in game perk that have increases chance of getting skill-checks and this one on top of that reducing their size. I would prob pass on this one or it needs to do something very different than that. Also I found "just increase how offten skill-checks appear" not rly interesting and very "simple" perk.

Chest protector build becomes stronger because of Plunderers demise so yes I must protect chest.

That's why it would be for only survivors good at skillchecks. A ruin or lullaby would ruin your day if you arent consistent with skillchecks. The reason I only have skillchecks appearing more frequently with no improvement to success zone size is to hopefully try to stay away from things that will make genrushing easier.

My idea from this stems from Unnerving Presence. But this perk I created has the purpose of boosting your capability with doing gens if a ruin or lullaby is gone, or boosting capability with certain perks. All this comes without smaller skill check success zones, and without the rng of needing a killer to actually run the perk. It is a risk-reward perk.

And your idea of adding in maybe 1-2 fake chests that don't yield items is really nice. I actually like that a lot.

Thank you for your input. I doubt my ideas would ever be seen by the devs but I would love perks just like these. We dont need every perk to be top tier. These are just your nice niche perks.

Yep. I prefer more of unique-fun (combo) perks than meta OP perks that everyone runs.

Plunderer's Demise only really functions 3 times in an average game, and can easily just not matter. The idea of having trapped chests added is probably more effective, maybe 1/2/3 added that just injure the player and/or guarantee bad loot.

Precision seems like a punishment, rather than a reward. Combo it with Ruin, or Unnerving Presence, and you see what I mean: it's a killer perk masquerading as a survivor perk. If you want it to reward survivors, buff action speed for repairs/healing and/or reduce the number of skill checks. As things are, this isn't 'risk/reward', it's just risk.

Idk I'm the kind of survivor that doesn't cleanse huntress lullaby bc it makes me repair gens faster...

I similarly don't worry about Lullaby, but it also doesn't increase the number of skill checks - increasing the frequency puts pressure on the survivor moreso than removing the largely irrelevant warning sound, because it means the survivor has to pay closer attention to the generator while not losing attentiveness for the environment.

As written, Precision is irrelevant to good survivors, and an active detriment to newer players.
