Unpopular Opinion: Video Game Edition
What are your unpopular opinions across all video games?
- Dark Souls is overrated - and, not because it's difficult. I appreciate, and respect how difficult it is. In my opinion it's boring, and has almost no replay-ability.
- If you play video games for any extended period of time - even mobile - you have the right to call yourself a gamer. If you love video games, if you can appreciate it as an art, then it doesn't matter what form you play those games on.
- PC's can be great, but so can consoles. I have a custom built PC that I'm not even done upgrading yet, but I still prefer console. I prefer the feel of a remote in my hand, to the feel of a mouse. And, at least in my experience, PC player tend to be more toxic and rude. Especially, to new players of long standing games.

1) Dark Souls has amazing world design, an interesting approach to lore, and is overall just a great game. I think people get too hung up on the difficulty. I roundly disagree with the argument that there is no replayability.
2) Identifying as a gamer isn't something that anyone else has any right to dictate to you. Freaking gatekeepers on Reddit or whatever just want to bully people and put boundaries around what a "true" gamer is, to exclude others. If you play games and enjoy them, that's cool. No one else can decide whether you're "allowed" to call yourself a gamer, that's just stupid.

Oh, and in terms of unpopular opinions that I have, Final Fantasy VII is stupid and boring.

I think Dark Souls is not replayable, because you will come across the same enemies, in the same area, with the same loot attached to the same glowing balls, in the same area of the map. Everything is the same everything you play that area, enough so that you could memorize the entire layout, and combat. Nothing changes when you replay it, at all. And, that makes a game non-replayable to me.

@AnnaEliza365 That may be, but consider this:
- You will employ vastly different strategies, depending on your build. I've played through Dark Souls 1 with a full-on sorcery build, and a melee/faith build, and it changes the way that you approach everything, especially bosses.
- The various covenants introduce new elements into the game -- different NPCs that weren't there before, different PVP considerations if you're into that, different items and side-quests that you didn't know about.
- There are a lot more routes through the game than a first-time player realizes. Especially on New Game+, you can effectively sequence-break a lot of the game.

Dark souls is not difficult imo in fact it is easy for me at least. Dark souls does lose a bit of replay ability unless you like to PVP like me

I tried to enjoy Bloodborne but imo it was too difficult for my liking and in the first area the fences hurt my eyes a bit for some reason.

Dark souls games were harder for me than Sekiro. I don't find either of them that hard tho. As someone who grew up on 2d platformers most modern games are a lot of easier (not all).

I was so looking forward to Boredlands and then they gave it away free on PS Plus! It's the single most disappointing game I've played since Civilization VI.
My unpopular opinion is: Dead By Daylight is the best game of all time (Civilization V was the best before that, and Baldur's Gate II before that)
I've been gaming since the Entity was running around in diapers and no game has kept me playing this much a year after getting addicted to it!
