Why are bloodpoints capped
just why

So you don't burn out new killers/survivors the moment they came out.
If we had our way, the moment a new killer or survivor hits we'd have them at P3 with all perks unlocked in a few minutes after buying the DLC.

Alright but why is that a such a big problem?

I think they capped it becasue I remember people used to hack it and give themselfs like massive amounts of points or something.
Maybe, I think.

And I see no issue with that. It doesn't matter if you have p3 on day 1 or in one week. It's the same at the end of the day.

They probably still can do that since people get bp refunds beyond the BP cap.

I know the devs can still do it, they still give out massive amounts to to compensate for all the stuff you've lost (if you did) to this day. I was talking about normal people hacking bloodpoints.

You can go over the cap with hacks.

The business model of games like DBD which rely on online stores is to keep people playing. The longer they keep playing the more chances of them opening their wallet to buy cosmetics and other stuff.
Newly content is released to keep you playing; if you can just max it out instantly then it doesn't do its job of keeping you playing.
Though at least they got money out of you buying the new content.

It isn't actually. The business model relies on keeping people playing for as long as possible.

There are a few "reasons", as for an actual reason, that is up to you if you think they are, I don't think they are all to convincing.
First reason being, so people don't Prestige 3 new characters quickly. Not sure why that's an issue, but it's a thing I guess.
Second reason, the common explanation. "It's to stop hackers from getting tons of BP and once". This is wrong for 2 reasons. One, if the DEVs can remove the cap such as during the data loss/refund period, no reason a cheater can't, and they probably have tbf. Secondly, they could just constantly receive 1 Mill BP over and over if the cap really worked, which I highly doubt.
There really is no reasonable explanation for it to exist. There are explanations though. Probably actually something to do with keeping people interested, or for the "games economy", or what have you.
But do you know what would keep me interested even more? Letting me keep as much BP as I want... Burning BP pointlessly sucks.
