Hawkins Lab totems

Yeah... I don't like what I'm seeing here. I assumed we wouldn't see totems placed like this anymore since the great job that was done on Springwood.

So I'm just going to assume Hawkins was allready in devellopement during the Springwood rework and somebody didn't get the memo. I am also going to assume this horrendous totem spot will be removed by the time of the live release along any other similar placement.

But seeing this makes me also worry about the loops on this map. If the Lab was allready halfway done while Springwood was being reworked, we might see old fashioned, toughtless pallets and windows placement creating busted loops with no mind games, rather than the new loop design philosophy from the Springwood rework.

I hope that big SUBJECT TO CHANGE disclaimer is not here for nothing as far as totems go at least. We will know if the loops are borked with the PTB. But if they are they could take some time to fix. The dreaded SOON™ kind of time.

    The loops also worry me, there are LOTS of windows on the 2nd floor in the offices.

    Also they have said that the reason they haven't put in the parameter of no totem next to gens is because it would limit the possible spots it can be since there are 7 Gens placed all over the map so putting a radius on them would hinder spots.

    I don't know how they place totems, maybe it is similar to how they place hooks? Hooks have designated spots on the map and each hook has a radius, any hook within that radius is cancelled out and does not spawn. I don't know if they have the same system for totems but in theory they can do this with Gens and just a smaller radius as there are only 5 totems which are small.

    Or they can pick up the community suggestion of ''leaves/trash in every single totem location possible and Survivors must move trash/leaves first to see if a totem is there or not''.

    Its not really about totems being close to generators as much as it is totems being in direct sight from a generator. That is the problem. You are supposed to go out of your way and actively look out for totems.

    You shoud never be able to see a totem directly from a generator, or from halfway across the map.

    So what if it limits places? What's better, less places that have to be searched and actively looked for, or more places but these garbage totems that sit in full view and die in 10 seconds anyway?

    No, not gens spawning out of line of sight, totems spawning out of line of sight from generators.

    I really, really hope I'm wrong and the preview was recorded on an old version of the map. But that totem placement is so laughably bad, it as me worried. And also a bit disapointed that such a thing can still happen in the first place.

    If this still exist on the map I really hope it can be changed by the time of the live release.

    it's literally impossible to find any totems on that map but cute that you complain about it before it even comes out, very Tyde Time calling Spirit under powered based on a teaser... Sit DOWN.

    Generators and totems placements appear to have been shifted around a bit beetween the preview video and the final release. Wich is exactly what I wanted.

    Now if only all the maps could be reworked that way...

    The looping on this map is INSANE and needs to be fixed ASAP... I just got the infinite run around from a nea. There was literally nothing I could do to get her

    There are actually two totem spawns on Hawkins like that.

    Not every totem spawn can be great, but hawkins has some fantastic totem spawns all snuggled up in the shelving where you have to look directly at them from the proper angle

    Frankly I think people are whining too much. Hawkins is one of the harder maps to find totems on.

    And why single out Hawkins, every other map has totem spawns right in view of gens.
