DCing should make you lose an equipped perk

None of this will be good for the game's health. It's good that you are posting a lot of suggestions, this one is, well, not good. As a dear friend of mine would say, "Chief, this ain't it."

No, Maybe different ways but not this. Like a 5 min match cool down. or even a blood point penalty for your next match. this is to much and if I dced by something out of my control (power outage, internet going down, Or my silly dog sitting on my power cable, etc) I would be super pissed to get back to the game and see that I lost my BBQ and Chilli from that and would have to relearn it.

no

Let's say it's 105 outside your ac as wellas your entire cities ac is running there is a black out you just lost a perk over something you had nothing to do with.im allfor punishing people who dc but losing a perk entirely or 3-5 minutes of a struggle phase doesn't fit

Perhabs make a system that can detect a pattern, then if you tend to DC often in a certain pattern it will lock a perk from you as punishment - however, I don't think it should reset to tier 1.
That would stop it from punishing you for getting, say, a blackout.

Yeah, let me not only face a Lagswitcher and DC vs him, let me also lose one of my Perks so that I need to go 3 Level 50 Bloodwebs to get it back. Good idea.
(Happened a few days ago, Killer was clearly lagswitching so I dced from this game. Getting punished then would be really, really "great")

LOL i'm waiting for "the devs should make dc'ers send in videos of them wearing dunce hats in public for 5 hours before they can play again".
0 -
So one bad weather or cable problem and you lose a perk because of something you can't control? Nah, that won't fly.
I know you're thinking of people who purposefully DC, but this punishes people who don't mean to as well. Not fair, not cool.

I would be more on board with a "bad player lobby" that GTA V Online had enabled before. If you DC/rage quit consistently enough, you are placed into a pool of other "toxic" players and those are the only ones you can match with for a certain period of time. Maybe enough tastes of their own medicine will teach them to play the game as it was intended. But the devs definitely need to figure out some way to impose harsher discipline for people who consistently sabotage the game

Why did you just copy this exact idea from someone else?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/83127/the-only-way-to-curb-dcs/
Anyways, terrible idea, so no. Just ban people who excessively DC. This is not rocket science.

A pattern? When a see a surv DC I know I'm playing against a camper/tunneler killer or he/she has a mori
0 -
Wouldnt it just frustrate people more and make them DC more? Or even drop the game? Bad idea.
1 -
Before banning people the devs need to fix the game. Balance and bugs, biggest issues since release.
0 -
You can still implement a DC punishment system while working on said balance and bug fixing.
0 -
Well they are working for 3 years on these issues. One issue got better, the other issue is still a major problem.

I've only ever genuinely DCd because of a network problem, why should I lose a perk because my WiFi F'd up one time!? 🤨
1 -
I really dont see this as a viable option because internet issues could occur and or like why it should strip you of a rank unless it was due to connection which wouldnt be that hard to figure out
0 -
I concur. This would essentially kill the game I feel, many would just stop playing.

Dude did you even think about this suggestion? This would be a really, really unhealthy addition. There's actual reasons to DC outside being salty you know. There could be an IRL health problem that you need to attend to or your power gets knocked out during a storm. So many people would quit the game because they feel forced to finish a game or lose something that could've taken them a while to earn.
1 -
No, sometimes the game bugs and you need to DC (happened to me) or your power goes out, internet goes out, or sometimes your entire team DCs so you think "######### it" and DC as well.
Not everyone who DCs ragequits or does it to depip - people who do that are the majority though. I just think punishing everyone like this is gonna punish people with legit reasons.

I am not going to run a match where the killer slugs all the time, nor am I going to run one against a 4 man who thinks it's their job in life to make my own miserable.
1 -
just implement a system that league of legends have. I believe that you are timed out after you dc a match... which is just fair wether you are at fault or not does not matter. If it was on purpose those x minutes feel long.. when you had to close it and therefore abandon match because you had to go somewhere or you lost power it's not gonna hurt u that much unless you have really unstable internet... in which case you shouldnt even play an online game with others that rely on you

I like the idea of a harsher punishment, I am so tired of losing add-ons, offerings and BP because of it. Let's not forget time. This -2 pip thing isn't enough. I do not know the solution, I just know it needs fixed. I do not think taking perks is a great idea for the aforementioned reasons. However, if people excessively DC, just ban them. I am sure that's alot of work as well for the dev team, but something's gotta be done. Matchmaking is slow (some days worse than others) and to have that happen is beyond frustrating. I think like an hour timeout would be a good start, not 5 damn minutes.

wasnt it "this aint it , chief"?

He likes to misquote things to make me mad :/

Or maybe... And this is a hot take here... But maybe not worry about other people who leave a match they obviously don't want to be in and let them play the game they paid for the way they want to and you play it the way you want to.
1 -
that won't work out when your survivor, cuz guess what you kinda need help to win
0 -
So I get in a game against a rank 1 nurse running a Mori, omega blink, ruin noed bbq and decide to leave and I loose 1 of my perks? Yeah this is the dumbest idea yet
0 -
pure evil is what he should be called for it

Every single online game on this planet needs a bad player lobby and nothing will change my mind.
1 -
Normally I'd be fine with that. DbD is a team game, however, and people randomly dropping severely hampers the enjoyment of other players. If that's the attitude you want to have, you're better suited to single-player or 1v1 games.

@DeadByMoonlight This is one of the worst ideas ever on the forum.
Look at how many times people have gotten kicked out of games because the game being bugged. Ormond for instance or with the multiple connection issues multiple people have had.
Also life happens and maybe they had to leave.
Timeout penalties are fine but when this game is bugged nobody will be able to play.

I like this idea, am im gald to see ONE other person agree. Sure it could use tweeks, i suggested making the in game leave button also make you loose a perk. A power failure or poor connection or even an intentional reset wouldn't cause a loss of perk. Or maybe if one or all the perks used that game We're locked for the next match. You have to hit people where it hurts if you want to make an impact. Keep fighting the good fight 👊

Leaving cause you think you're going to losse is weak.
1 -
Okay buddy when you have a terrible team vs an op killer like I just stated have fun
0 -
You'd think being rank one your team wouldn't be terrible.
0 -
just block them from the requeue as long as the round is ongoing and take their BPs and pips they would have made this round.
your idea is way too harsh, especially if you had a DC unwillingly (a real connection loss or irl problems forcing you to quit).
i know DCs are very annoying, but your solution is not the right way to go.
0 -
How would you know any of this info if you just dc . I mean you would know ruin and the Omega blink BBQ you could figure out agree 1-2 hooks. The Mori would be at the offering screen. But your telling me you b don't have what it takes to do what you can .
You would rather leave your team to fend for themselves
DC should be punished by temp bans starting at 5 minutes and increasing after that
0 -
I agree about temp bans like 5 minutes for dc'ing but getting rid of a whole perk is plain stupid
0 -
Yea that's a terrible idea to lock perks. Under my method after enough DC the person would be banned.
0 -
I believe losing a perk is too much. losing all add ons, items, and the offering used during the game would be better. maybe every 3 rage quits should result in something more serious but it's a tough call to make.
