Something Wrong with Ranking and Matchmaking
Help! I haven't been able to escape the entity!
Well, 90% of the time, for about 2 weeks now. It's the same story: we get 4 generators or maybe just 1, before getting slaughtered by the killer. I don't expect to escape all the time, but this is just not fun - and it used to be fun.
I'm currently a green rank survivor - rank 10 - 12. I've been going against similar rank killers. But these killers seem crazy-strong. I'm not good in a chase and prefer stealth. But I must be doing something right to stay in green ranks. Lately, once I'm discovered by the killer, it's game over for me. My team mates have been suffering as well.
I have a theory. Since the last rank reset, some red and purple killer mains may have struggled to pip, despite getting 4ks and such. The result is that they stay in green ranks, wrecking green rank survivors with shocking efficiency. They only safety pip because the emblem system gives them iridescent for Devout (because they killed everyone), but only bronze for chaser (because they didn't chase enough.)
It's just speculation, but I've seen posts on here recently by killer mains complaining that they only safety pip - even though they got a 4-kill.

They likely are only safety piping because they are camping, or are just killing survivors way to early. I doubt thats the case its likely cause people leave and come back and they end up in higher ranks.

You're right, something IS wrong with ranking: there's no ######### reward! I feel worse escaping a match to see a double pip than I do dying and not even looking at the results screens.
I keep getting to rank 5-6,where it's all Billy/nurse/freddy, and I actually just want them to kill me so I can depip and roll the dice again, and maybe get a fun killer

Instead of making that awful battle pass garbage the cosmetics from that could be used as rank rewards. But all the devs care about is $$$ even if it means using predatory, exploitative business tactics that no reasonable player can ever find positive

You have a good point there and that could explain my recent experiences. I'm no expert on the ranking system. But if it's possible that killers are only safety pipping because they are camping, or killing survivors way too early - shouldn't the emblem system be revised?
I've noticed on this forum that people can have a run of bad games, then come to a conclusion that it happens all the time to everyone. They assume there's a flaw in the game and come here to make suggestions: remove NOED...nerf DS...increase gen completion time... I don't know - maybe I'm doing the same thing here?

When have the devs ever used tactics like that? All the dlc characters perks will come up in the shrine sooner or later and most the really good killers aren't dlc. The skins are fairly overpriced, but they don't change anything about the game so it doesn't matter.
