Flashlight issues, works if I'm killer, doesn't if i'm survivor
I've been having issue with the flashlight both when I'm the killer working almost perfectly and when I'm the survivor never working it seems. I've tried using the really good addons including some ultra rare and very rare for both the flashlight and both addons. I can never seem to ge it to work even weh shined right in killers eyes they always know right where I'm at and smack me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated especially since i've watched people play standing right behind them an d they seem to occasionally have same issues.

I don't know if it's changed in the past year, but I know for the longest time you didn't aim the flashlight at the killer's eyes, but kind of aimed for like their chin in order to get the blind.
So unless they changed that in the past year (I haven't used flashlights in ages so I don't know) then you're just aiming at the wrong place.

After a patch, all flashlights take the same time to blind a Killer. Add-ons only increases/improves the blind duration, beam width, beam distance, battery consumption, aim accuracy, and brightness(?). Survivors should aim their flashlights below the Killer's eyes (I personally aim at their chins). For the timing, I usually count to three after the pick up animation starts or when the Killer's head nudge to the left after picking up a downed Survivor.

Funnily enough I actually got it to work 1x on The Shape of all killers by shining it near his chest/chin which is odd since as the killer it's face that seems to blind me. I personally don't like using it that much and also because they hard focus you the moment they see you with it lol.

Aim for the shin.
If you want to flashlight a killer grabbing a survivor, count to 3 seconds, starting at the moment he starts to grab, then start flashing.
The grabbing animation is 4,3~s, the flashing time is 1,3~s0 -

The grabbing animation is 4,3~s, the flashing time is 1,3~sYou'll flash him but not stun him and he won't drop the survivor. It needs to be started when the survivor is fully on the killer's shoulder, where he stays still for almost exactly the time needed for the flashlight.
The flashlight effect buildup also stays for a few seconds... so technically you could flash at the beginning of pick up, let go before it gives you the 'killer blind' points, then flash at the end of the animation for the stun.

You'll make him drop if you do what I just said.
It works, as it's how I do it with yellow flashlights for a while now.
The flash will kick in as soon as the grabbing animation starts.
Just re-read what I said.0
