Grab prevention exploit.
I've recently encountered a frustrating issue.
Previously, I was under the impression that when survivors "spam" an action, starting and stopping rapidly, I was having trouble grabbing simply out of bad timing, luck, or connectivity.
Playing Doctor, though, I've discovered that this is actually an unavoidable exploitation of how the game handles grabs and latency.
When in treatment mode on the Doctor, you can still grab survivors, but are completely unable to attack with your main weapon.
If a survivor "spams" an action, and you attempt to grab while in treatment mode, you will often swing, injuring the survivor, despite NOT BEING ABLE to swing.
Considering this, I'm to understand that when clients disagree on whether or not a grab occurs, the game invariably deems it to have been a normal M1 attack.
The issue is that survivors are able to perform an action at intervals such that they are not performing the action for an amount of time greater than the latency between them and the killer, resulting in a situation where the killer is completely unable to interrupt regardless of timing even, as can be seen with the doctor, when they have no ability to accidentally attack within intended mechanics.
