I cant see where the F im going when chasing
so im new to the game and when ever theres tall grass or other things blocking my vision, i just completely lose survivors on the chase. they could be right next to me and i wouldnt be able to see them.
i dont know if theres a perk that gives off where they are when very close to me, but right now im playing as the Pig.
also those scratchmarks are impossible to see when near grass so im not sure what to do.
i get the first hit in just fine with my stealth ability, then they run a way and im slow as hell, and actually chasing them down from there is... well difficult. its not a problem about pallets just clear visibility and those scratchmarks just arent that clear to me when theres tall grass or bushes.
how do you guys do it?

You will eventually get the hang of it (with the exception of corn...you either have a good time or a bad time). My advice is to tilt your view slightly downward to see a bit more ground while chasing. This will always keep the scratch marks visible on your peripheral vision while always allowing you to look ahead to find the survivor. It will take time to get use to it if you are playing on console too as the fps isn't optimal.

im guessing over all when i get to know the stages it becomes easier too. right now im running around like a headless chicken because i dont actually know the stages well and where people can hide. i tried that gideon meat plant thing, and everytime i was downstairs, it took me ages to find the stairs to get up.

Don't worry Gideon is a nightmare for everyone hah. I would also recommend playing both sides as it will give you an idea of the survivors point of view for where to hide and the killers point of view for where to look.

when i play killer, i dont expect to kill everyone. i play with the idea in mind, that i ######### as many as i can. but yea.. i could use a minimap or something. but i guess its only untill i know the maps.
i also dont fully understand all the perks when i read them. like one of the Pigs perks which does the following:
A disturbing, yet brilliant, Trap design sketched in detail on a sheet of paper.
Increases available Jigsaw Boxes by 1.
Moderately increases the Reverse Bear Trap death timer.why is it good to have more jigsaw boxes? and why on earth would it be great for the reverse bear trap to have increased death timer? shouldnt it have a decreased timer so it goes off faster?
same with another of the Pigs perks:
Unlocks potential in one's Aura reading ability. The last 1 regressing Generator's/2 regressing Generators'/3 regressing Generators' Aura(s) are indicated in white to you for 16 seconds.
what the hell is a regressing generators aura?

Bloodhound + Sloppy Butcher
You shouldn't lose them in a chase anymore.
Best ways to find survivors as killer without perks are to follow blood, pay attention to the crows (if they fly away then someone just scared them off go check it out, if they are landing someone was just there), and check objectives (gens specifically, but if you see a chest or totem take note of the position so that when you come back if it's open/destroyed you know someone was in the area).
Also if you are playing Pig and have a very hard time finding survivors you could use Amanda's Letter add-on which allows her to see survivor auras within 12m when crouched, though it comes at the cost of only getting 1 trap and with 2 boxes meaning your traps will be way less effective, but your crouch will be way more effective. Pair it with Last Will for an extra trap, and I would recommend only using a trap on the obsession otherwise save it for later in the game so you can slow down the game even just a tad when you need to.

The additional Jigsaw box is one more box for survivors to look through for the right key to get the beartrap off their heads. The increased timer is a counter to that to allow at least a chance to search all 5 boxes. You will find a lot of Add-ons are like that, having a good effect, but a counter-effect to make it more fair.

Also you should not be chasing in crouch as Pig. Crouch is to ambush them for the first hit. When you chase them you should be standing like a normal killer. Only time you crouch in a chase is if they try to loop you at a pallet you can sometimes mindgame them which way you will ambush around the loop. Look up Tru3Tal3nt he is probably the biggest DBD streamer that plays killer and he does that trick a lot with Pig. It's not very effective, though at ranks you might be at it probably is.

The add on you mentioned adds another box making the odds of getting the correct key 1 in 5 vs 1 in 4. For this you also get a negative effect making the trap last longer. To be fair her power is mostly for keeping survivors off gens to prolong the game as it is rare you will kill someone with them. Her perk " Survalence" (spelt wrong) reveals the auras of generators you've kicked and regress (they slowly lose progress when kicked). Its a horrible perk don't use it ^.^

Afterrrrrrrr some time you will learn how the loop works, survivors always take the same routes because they are brain-dead completely safe routes.
As a beginner I suggest to play a tall killer like doctor, billy or trapper, that can help you a lot already.Pig is really hard to play, I would forget about her in the beginning. You shouldnt be using her ambush attack most of the time because crouching takes way too much time (game is about time management), there are only very little situations where ambush actually helps you
It can help you to reduce settings to low
